We spent eight days at Casa Sarcula with our two year-old daughter and an old friend. It's a roomy stone cottage set in the rolling countryside surrounding Testa dell Acqua. The cottage would comfortably sleep two couples and there's also a double loft bed and lounge area if there are kids in tow. We developed a real feel for southern Sicily by spending a week here: shopping in the Siracusa's market and bringing mountains of fresh produce home to cook in the wood-fired oven was a fantastic experience that's difficult to replicate in our more regulated 'Heimat'. The historic baroque city of Noto is just down the road, as well as some spectacular beaches (by Mediterranean standards). If you're looking for room to move, sunshine, and tranquility, then it's a tough place to beat. Guido and Antonello were helpful, friendly and, above all, honest hosts who helped us out whenever needed but also afforded us the privacy we were craving. Thank you both.
Our stay at Casa Sarculla was wonderful. The house is super charming and clean. It is perfectly located : right in the middle of the beautiful Sicilian countryside, but very close to many barroco towns such as Noto or Siracusa. We enjoyed the breathtaking and peaceful environment. Sarah´s parents were very nice and welcoming. We highly recommend this authentic Sicilian country house.
