The hotel is clean and nicely furnished, both the public areas as well as the rooms. The staff is super helpful and also entertaining (e.g., Antonio at the bar) - we felt really welcome. The breakfast is great - they have a lot of choice, and the americano will wake you up even if you slept badly. I would definitely choose this hotel again when in town!

There are only two small downsides:
1. The street is quite loud, which is of course not the hotel's fault and you can always close your window.
2. The maximum water temperature in the shower is a single degree too cold for my taste, which they cannot change for some reason either.

Room tip: I would guess that the rooms not having a window towards the street are more silent, if there are any at all.

A great weekend based in Catania travelling around the city and down to Siracusa. Beautiful hotel with amazing service especially from Antonio who really looked after us. The hotel is very funky and amazingly positioned for sightseeing in Catania and also 15 minutes walk from the main train station. Would definitely recommend.

A diamond in the ruff for sure. It’s good little hotel to stay if you get only one day off to walk around down town. Really good pizza restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was good and fresh every day. Would stay again and for the price it wasn’t a bad business trip hotel.

Giacomo at the front desk was particularly helpful. He went out of his way to make sure we had a good visit -- offered us a complimentary cappuccino, stored our bags, etc. And Catania deserves far more international recognition as one of the most vibrant cities in Italy. Highly recommended.

If you are staying in Catania you won't find nicer, more helpful, kind people than the staff at Romano House. We were suddenly stranded without a place to stay and called here. The person I spoke to, I believe his name was Giacomo, only had one room available and we needed two. But rather than leaving it at that he actually found and booked us a hotel, stayed on the phone with me while we searched the busy streets of Catania on a busy Saturday night and invited us to breakfast the next morning. This hotel is in the center of Catania but on a quieter side street with parking and beach access. The facilities are immaculate and modern and the rest of the staff we encountered were just as wonderful. If I ever return to Catania Hotel Romano House will be my first choice.
