Alle porte della citta is a great apartment, suitable either for a couple to be near to the hub of Verona, or also ideally suitable for a family of four.
The neighbourhood was quiet and we met some of the immeadiate neighbours, who were very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed sitting out on the little balcony in the afternoon to have a drink and watch the world.
We were in walking distance of the centre of Verona and could easily get to 2 very nice Osteria's. One recommended by our host Camilla, called Ai Oiseau, on Via Venti Settembre which we went to twice.
We could have cooked in the apartment if we had wanted as it was equipped well enough to do so.
All was very clean, there were plenty of fresh towels and adequate bedding with extra blankets if we had needed.
One of the most notable things, was how helpful Camilla was, we broke our key in the lock one evening, which Camilla arranged to come and replace at our convenience the next day and I left my camera behind by mistake when we left to return home.
Camilla found my camera and posted back to me very promptly. We were probably a bit of a nuisance really, but camilla was very kind and didn't seem put out by our stupididty!
Also although the apartment was on the second floor there is a lift, and the second floor gave us a nice view right down the street.
I can't articulate enoug how nice this apartment was! it felt very unpretentious and homely.
One more thing the bed had the most wonderful mattress.
