“Stunning!”

My wife and I have recently returned from a trip to Verona having stayed in 2 apartments in the same ownership La Mansardina (see separate review) and La Leoncina.

La Leoncina is a beautiful and tasteful contemporary renovation of a classic old italian building. It is large by apartment standards and incredibly bright and airy being on the top floor. For two it was large enough to be a permanent residence rather than simply a "holiday let". It was immaculately clean and tidy and the fittings were excellent quality. WiFi was comfortably fast.
It's location is also perfect just a couple of minutes walk from Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza Bra and the Arena, and a 15 minute walk from the railway and bus stations should you wish to venture beyond the city (eg €13 for a full day pass on local buses - enough for a return trip to Garda and explore a couple of lakeside towns - try Malcesine! or €17 return trip to Venice on the RV train).

Giulia the owner was great - immediately responsive and very helpful. She even organised executive taxi transfers to and from the airport on our behalf at a very competitive rate. We arrived to a fridge stocked with milk, water and fruit juice and breakfast cereals and biscuits in the cupboard. The handover was welcoming and informative and included a book produced by Giulia with contact details, restaurant recommendations and things to see and do.

Should we visit Verona again Guilia and La Leoncina will be our first port of call and I would recommend both of them to you without hesitation.

“Great apartment in the old town”
Reviewed 13 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We really enjoyed our stay in La Leoncina. It has been beautifully renovated, is spacious, comfortable and clean. We didn't meet our host Giulia but Anna met us, showed us the apartment and was helpful with our queries. We would highly recommend it.

What a perfect weekend. Opera (posh seats), ice cream, pizza and the most relaxing, spotless place to stay. Just a few minutes from everywhere and yet quiet and cool.
Everything was arranged for us: a car to pick us up and even essentials in the fridge. It couldn't have been easier.

“The only place to stay in Verona”

A slick and professional service from start to finish, airport pick-up in style, direct to the door followed by a great welcome. The apartment is stylish, minimal, implacably clean, quiet, select, authentic, private. Entering the courtyard through and unmarked door, who doesn't want to go through an unmarked door, okay there's 62 stairs to climb but they're worth every step. Verona's not too large and the apartment is ideally placed to roam the narrow streets to visit Juliet's House (Casa di Giulietta) (she's wasn't real guys it was a story) or drop on quiet bar, try the Tommasi Recioto della Valpolicella desert wine, stunning.

Oh there's also an opera or two to see.

If you do visit Verona this is the only place to stay, or maybe the Secret Loft owned by the same couple. We'll be back for sure.

Thanks Giulia for the lovely stay.

Ian
