We took the stairs, I think it was 284 to the view platform. You have the option of the lift for €1 but we wanted to make it up and down ourselves. It's worth it, fantastic views from the belfry.

Entry included on Verona Card. We didn't pay to use the lift and instead climbed the 289 (I think) stairs. You get incredible views in every direction across the city. Well worthwhile.

Situated just outside one of Verona's main squares Piazza delle Erbe the famous Torre dei Lamberti lets you experience the city of Romeo and Julia from above. If you are up for the challenge you can climb the tower by foot (as we did, the stairs are not that many) or take the lift to the top and back. The tower free with the Verona card, you need to only pay for using the lift.

There is a superb view from the top of the tower. We could see the rain clouds sweeping in that would later drench us with rain.

The tower can be accessed by a lift so you don’t need to climb all the stars unless you want to.

This was our first port of call for our day in Verona as we were worried it would be very busy. It was empty ! We bought our Verona card from the art gallery upstairs ( worth a quick look as it is included in the price) And then went up. The lift took the stress out of it but was optional for those who wanted to climb it. We were only up for 10 minutes. There was no warning when the bells suddenly went off!
