Great for max 2 night for a couple. Close to everything but quiet. 30 secs from best gelato in Italy. Whilst there is air con in main area there are only fans in bedroom and we stayed in heatwave which made sleeping uncomfortable. It was super clean and the hosts were charming
This is a very well equipped apartment with a superb terrace. When we were there the jasmin was in bloom and there could not have been a better spot to relax. Fiorenza is very kind and helpful, providing basics so that we could have breakfast on our first day without shopping plus there is a lot of information on places of interest. On our last day she arranged a driver to take us to the airport at a very good rate.
The apartment is within easy walking distance of the station and city centre. Just around the corner is a bus stop where you can catch a bus to Lake Garda. Two steps from the apartment is a very popular ice cream shop.
I recommend this apartment very highly.
The apartment was only 10 mins from the train station and we were able to see all the sights of Verona on foot - so it's in a great spot. Fiorenza was very welcoming and hospitable and the apartment was stocked with a full range of cooking utensils, as well as food for breakfasts and basics already in the fridge. Bread appeared one day and even a bottle of wine! Very thoughtful. Pretty and private terrace was the icing on the cake! Great to come back to - to lie on the loungers and watch the sun set...
For those with less mobility, it's worth mentioning there are over 50 marble stairs up to the apartment (not an issue for us) and while it was very quiet all week, there was booming music from the bar downstairs on the final Friday night. Hard to avoid, if you want a place that is close to where it's all happening! We'd heartily recommend this accommodation for a whole range of reasons: clean, good air-con, fully equiped, good shower, comfy beds, lots of privacy. Thank you, Fiorenza!
Really good flat at a good price.
15 minute walk from Porta Nuova train station.
10 minute walk to Piazza Bra, passing gafes, supermarket and other shops.
Directly opposite La Romana - the best gelataria in Verona (see separate review).
Good facilities, including a well equipped kitchen for cooking your own pasta etc.
Fiorenza is a great landlady - leaving basics when you arrive and during your stay, and generally being lovely (Grazie, Fiorenza)
Fantastic terrace - a sun trap, surrounded by pot plants and flowers (the jasmine and hydrangeas were fabulous). We spent afternoons and nights laying there looking up at the swifts flying and swooping as the sun went down, and the moon and stars came out.
Up 3 flights of stairs - so may not be suitable for people with a disability or mobility issues.
Low/Sloping ceilings (well it is in the roof), so watch out if you are tall - however, I am 6' and although I hit my head lots (I am too stupid to learn...), it is only wooden panelling so I did not feel a thing.
Stayed for one week. Wanted an early night on the last night (Friday) following being up all Thursday night following the UK election results (much better than expected, by the way) only to find the cafe three floors below had music on very loud until midnight - but all quiet the rest of the time.
In summary - I would stay here again. In summer, having the private terrace is a positive that cannot be underestimated!
