Owner description: We are here — we have made it our mission — to prove to Venice visitors that once you get away from the maddening crowds around Piazza San Marco, and we get you into the real, living, Venetian neighborhoods, thriving with restaurants and caffes without the dreaded “menu turistico”, you will be enchanted by this city and stunned at the beauty and variety of the foods we eat here!

My husband and I really enjoyed going into the little local bars. The shop keepers were all so friendly and welcoming. The food and wine tastings were delicious! Maya and Adam were really fun tour guides. We had a great time!

I joined the Off the Eaten Path tour with my partner as a way of seeing parts of Venice while finding out the best places to eat along the way. The tour exceeded my expectations and we both thought it was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Italy.

Our guides Adam and Maya were so friendly and full of information, whether it was finding beautiful fresh wines, delicious cicchetti or tips for ordering when out and about. They made good points about supporting local Venetian business and we returned to several of the different stops on the following days.

If we return to Venice one of the first items on the list will be to book their other dinner tour.

Just book it - it is well worth it!

My wife and I have taken to scheduling vacations around food tours. We were all over Europe for three weeks late September to mid October and this food tour was our favorite. Adam, Maya and Sarah were great guides. The food and drink options are well described by others. What you should know is that this is a very laid back tour with helpful guides who make you feel at ease. No pressure to buy anything. Helpful hints on how to look for good food in Venice and how to go about getting that food. We went back to several of our stops and hit locations they recommended from other tours. We definitely see why it is a highly rated activity. When we return to Venice we will return to Venice Bites.

Sure, you can eat and drink yourself around a place like this, but to do so, with the best it has to offer, instead of the million pizza joints, is bliss!
Sarah was an awesome host and we thoroughly enjoyed our day and the offerings we sampled. Highly recommend to everyone!

Adam and Sarah did an excellent job of introducing us (a perfectly-sized group of 10) to eating authentic Venetian food in establishments run by Venetians - often by the same family down through the generations. We were also given lots of useful hints about how to interact with people with respect, how to find genuine Venetian-made masks and Murano glass and how to navigate Venice in a more savvy way. I have been to Venice many times, but still learned heaps...and in a really fun, engaging way. And there was LOTS of food and drink! A really marvelous experience I would recommend to anyone.
