We dined here twice since we loved the food, ambiance, and location. A little off the beaten path and frequented mainly by locals and Italian tourists. The house wine is cheap (less expensive than Coke) and the seafood dishes are excellent.

Great value for our money, very good food and friendly staff. We casually found this restaurant while walking from one attraction to another, but we were happy and satisfied we chose it for our lunch.

We had wonderful steamed clams and mussels as well as pasta with a light meat sauce. The wine was a great price.

For our short stay in Venice we decided to ask suggestions for restaurants from a local friend and he told us about Osteria Mocenigo.
We got there pretty late and didn’t expect them to welcome us but they actually gave us a table. We ordered a nice bottle of white, a starter of clams and mussels; some black spaghetti and fried calamari for main. The food was amazing, plenty of fish and big portions.
At the end of the meal, I didn’t know what to expect, I’m Italian and Venice is renewed for the high prices but when the bill was presented to us it was cheaper than expected, a great value for money. The service was good as well, we kept the waiter there for longer than he expected but he’s been really nice with us!
If we happen to be back in Venice we will definitely come back.

Osteria Mocenigo was recommended to us by friends who had visited Venice earlier this year. They told us it was difficult to find and we may not even find the name of the restaurant prominently displayed (both were true), but we did find it and are so glad we did. We had a table for 4 outside the front of the restaurant on a beautiful Sunday night. We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was fresh, deliciously prepared and expertly served. The prices were much lower than other restaurants closer to St, Mark's square or the Rialto bridge.
