It is an old building with heavy doors. But the interior is very nice. The room is nice although the bed is kind of small. The bathroom is standard size for europe but ok. The breakfast does not have a lot of variety and is kind of smallfor american standards. Very european. The location is what makes it very good. You walk a few steps from the train station and it is there across the street. Nice price also.

Room Tip: Interior rooms are quieter.

We stayed here for one night after missing our train to Munich. The hotel was a much more reasonable price than what we paid on the island and the rooms were also a lot more spacious and comfy. If I were to visit Venice again i would probably stay here and catch the train across the road to the island. A lot better value for money than hotels in central Venice.

Stay : 3 nights.
Location : Good. Mestre Train station across the street. Bus stop to Venezia is within 2mins on the same street. Take the No2. bus to Venice at the bus stop on the train station side.
Room amenties : Wi-fi is free and speed is good, a BIG plus these days, unlike some hotels who still charges.
Breakfast buffet : Breakfast spread is good. Typical continental breakfast.

This hotel is very conveniently located next to Mestre Train station. Don't have to pay the crazy price for a stay on the Venezia island itself. Seen many tourists lugging their luggage on Venezia looking for their Hotel. For us, it is just stepping of the train, walk across the street and we are at the hotel. No bus/tram/taxi transfer.

The staff are very helpful and able to converse in English. You can just buy your Tourist Venezia UNICA City Pass in the convenience shop just next door.

As for the hotel itself, it is a bit worn down and need serious work on its air-conditioning. The air-conditioning in our room (205) was set at 23 degree C and can't increase unless you go to the front desk for help. The wall-mounted air-conditioning control was worn and '+' button peel-off. But the worse is the noise from the air-conditioning in our room. We hardly slept well and the sound is louder than the street's transport or the train across the street. We got up early daily (around 6am) and couldn't get back to sleep. The reason we still can sleep with the noisy air-con is because we are dead tired from our day in Venice. Beside that, the bathroom ceiling light need some improvement (the lamp need some time to brighten up) and the bathroom door frame at the bottom corner had been 'chewed' off.

We had the room overlooking the train station and the noise did not bother us a bit. The hall way gives one a nice woody, aged feel but once in our room, it feels musty, not the country-typed woody feeling, more like the aged-worn wooded feel.

I gave this hotel an average rating because the staff is very helpful, which helped pull up the rating . Otherwise, it would have a poor rating on my books. Because we had already paid for the 3 nights and there isn't any refund, we decided to bear with it. It would be a really good hotel if they can do something to improve the room condition.

The summary in advance, this hotel is ok.

The advantages are it´s site across the street from the railway station. If you want to visit Venice (and who would go to Mestre for any other reason) that is great. The staff is eager to help with everything even though it might be that your question asked in english will be answered in italian ;). But the most people working there can talk a fair english.
There is a restaurant right next to the hotel and they are somehow connected, the staff is trying to make the guests go there to eat - we resisted for no specific reason. I cannot tell you anything about the restaurant.
I stayed there two nights and cannot complain at all about the cleanliness of my room.

What I did not like that much was the tiny room and the bathroom that smelled funny. Probably that is not coming from the cleaning but the building being old and "used". The breakfast - well - you are in Italy, what did you expect :). The coffee was great though. On TV you get only italian channels.

Fair price - good service - adequate facility.

On this same street you have bus station connected with airport and train station so you can drive to Venice old town very fast. Hotel small and lovely, rooms quiet and clean. Typical italien breakfast.
