“Location, location, location!!”
Reviewed 18 November 2017 for a stay in November 2017

We’ve just enjoyed a lovely stay at this property and really couldn’t be more impressed. We are a family of four - 2 adults, a 3 year old and a 2 year old and found it to be perfect for us.

Communication before, during and after was fantastic with prompt responses to any questions we had and checking throughout and after our stay to make sure that everything had been OK. We were provided with instructions on how best to meet with our contact prior to our departure and although there was a minor miscommunication issue upon arrival after our flight had been delayed it was quickly rectified.

We were met by a lovely, charismatic gentleman called Bruno at the ferry and he walked us to the apartment stopping by the grocery store on the way so we could buy the essentials. Bruno provided detailed information upon check in regarding the apartment with suggestions on things to do and see around Venice, where to eat, how to get around and provided instructions on how to get to the train station for our departure. Similarly he walked us through the apartment showing us all aspects/features and made sure that we were able to navigate the televsion, WiFi etc. Bruno was extremely courteous and treated us with respect.

The location of the apartment was absolutely perfect!! There are plenty of options for eating nearby, a small grocery store (Coop) as mentioned above, and a ferry stop all within easy walking distance. Many of the main tourist attractions such as San Marco’s Basilica were all within an easy walk as well.

The apartment itself was clean and modern but still oozed lots of charm particularly from the exposed beams. It had pretty much everything you my need on a holiday with adequate crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, as well as the essentials including toilet paper and soap.

The ‘street’ outside the apartment is a somewhat busy thoroughfare so it can be noisy at times. If you are someone who is bothered by noise this place may not be for you and while we noticed it, we didn’t think it really took way from our experience.

We would highly recommend this apartment and would certainly stay there again if were are ever fortunate enough to make it back to Venice.

Thank you for a lovely stay!!

I traveled with my wife and daughter(19). We were met at the water bus stop Fondamenta Nove and taken to the apartment, without a guide we would not have found it. Once we were in the apartment we were shown around and told how it all worked including putting out rubbish for the bin men. There was a book explaining everything as well. We connected to the WIFI to make sure that it was all working ok, no problems. We were given a map of Venice and had places marked out on it of places that were good to visit, not just the normal tourist attractions. Once everything was sorted we paid the City tax which was a bit more than we expected (80 euros) in cash, I had previously tried to find out about the rates which said a lot about hotels and star ratings on a sliding scale but found nothing about apartment rentals, so make sure you have budgeted for that. Once we were on our own and looked closely at the apartment we were very happy, it was spotless. The main bedroom and en suite were large and comfortable, the bed was firm and no problems sleeping. The second bedroom had two single beds and a separate small shower room & wc. The main living area was spacious and well set out, large tv with Sky. The Sky channels are Italian, though a lot of the programs can be changed to their original language on the yellow button if you are not fluent in Italian. The kitchen area was small and functional though not much worktop space. It was well equipped, large fridge, washing machine, dish washer, microwave, gas hob, fan assisted oven. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The apartment is well situated in Venice, turning right out of the apartment there is a convenience store (Coop) close by (about 4 mins away) where you can get snacks, food and essentials, also a restaurant, coffee bar and cinema. Turning left out of the apartment takes you to a main shopping street and Venice beyond. Other than the occasional trundle of someone pulling their suitcase passed the apartment the only other noise we heard were church bells ringing. All in all I could not fault the apartment, after a day of wandering around Venice it was nice to get back to it and relax with a nice cuppa.

I was initially hesitant to book this apartment, as there were very little reviews on it. When we arrived, we were told is was new to the company- which was clear from the modern & clean apartment.
We were met at the water bus stop by Sofie who walked us to the apartment which was a nice touch. It was less than a 5 min walk. She showed us around the apartment and gave us some reccomendations of bars/resturants/places to see and most inportantly ice cream shops!
The apartment was down a small alleyway just off a busy street leading on to the small streets of Venice. Just round the corner was a co-op which was handy. Everything is within walking distance in Venice which is lovely as you can get lost exploring and never be too far away!
The apartment itself was great. The open plan kitchen & lounge was a good size and had everything you needed. Even a small dishwasher, a tv and wifi. The lounge had a sofa bed, and a small bathroom with shower was just off the lounge, next to the twin bedroom.
The main bedroom was much bigger than expected, with a huge double bed and ensuite with bath. The second twin room was also good, although had barely any space to put your clothes so I pretty much lived out of my suitcase for the weekend. The apartment also had a safe which was nice to have as we ensure we are able to lock away valuables when we go away.
Overall, I would most definatley reccomend this apartment. It is a great base for exploring Venice.

“Ideal location just off the beaten track”
Reviewed 1 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Positioned just off of the main Strada in Cannaregio this makes an ideal base for exploring Venice. The approach down a narrow alley appeared at first a little intimidating but we soon realised that this was the norm for a lot of properties. Being on the ground floor proved beneficial as an older couple however, the downside is that the lights need to be on all of the time .... a small price to pay for the convenience.
We didn't use the cooking facilities therefore cannot comment although there appeared to be everything in place and very clean. The washing machine was a bonus as we had already been travelling for 12 days.
It is an excellent apartment let down only by the quality of the towels. They needed replacing long before our use of the apartment. (Hopefully the owner takes note and replaces them)

“Wonderful Venice!”
Reviewed 25 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Ca'Dorina. Bruno met us at the Vaporetto stop, Ca'd'Oro, and walked us to the flat a short distance away. He was a perfect guide; telling us where the nearest supermarket was, a good coffee shop etc. The flat was down a little quiet alley and was ideally located for doing all sightseeing, going for walks, for the vaporetto, and there were restaurants nearby. It was very clean and well furnished, as described in the listing, we were very pleased with it. Bruno showed us round, how to work the appliances and then pointed out on the map what to see and how to get to various places, adding lots of useful information such as what was the best time to visit St Marks. We asked about concerts in churches and he told us of the church San Vidal at the Academia Bridge where we went to hear Vivaldi's Four Seasons one evening which was excellent.
There was a bar/restaurant round the corner in Calle dell'Oca - ai promessi sposi where we had two excellent meals. We also loved snacking in tapas bars, standing drinking a spritz Aperolo or Proscecco and sampling the appetizers. Similarly for a coffee and cake in a patisserie shop. Apart from doing the 'must see sights' I particularly enjoyed walking round the quieter streets, north of the flat, and going into the beautiful churches along the way.
We would definitely recommend the property - and Bruno - to friends and family. The Red House Company was extremely efficient and we would use them again.
