This spacious square is just off the main tourist route to and from the Rialto Bridge. But surprisingly, almost no tourists bother to visit this square; the only tourists I spotted crossed Campo San Polo with their trolleys on their way to the hotel. On this square children play, while their grandparents sit and read a magazine. During the Venice film festival, a open air cinema will be built on Campo San Polo. At the back of the square, a restaurant annex beer cafe offers a nice outdoor sit-down area. If you are unhurried, sit down on Campo San Polo for a while.
