“An ideal apartment for a visit to La Serenissima”

Our extended family of 3 brothers, two wives, and two adult children stayed in this charming and delightful apartment for a week at the end of April. It was a perfect choice.

First of all, the location is absolutely excellent. This was Tintoretto's neighborhood. The apartment is located right on a rio (canal) in a quiet, largely residential neighborhood, far from the madding crowds. But it is nonetheless conveniently located near several vaporetto stops, and an excellent shopping district.

Not only that, but it is an easy walk of a few minutes to the magnificent Madonna dell'Orto, to the marina at the Sacca de la Misericordia (where the wonderful Row Venice lessons meet), and there are several excellent restaurants nearby. Over on the next canal, you will find the very popular Al Timon, the excellent Birreria Zanon, and the live jazz club Paradiso Perduto. The apartment itself is located right on top of the very nice 40 Ladroni, and just a stone's throw away from the Anice Stellato - where we could never get in, because we were too lazy to make a reservation.

Don't worry about the restaurant downstairs - Venice is not a late night city, and things were very quiet by 10:00 PM.

The apartment itself is spacious and airy, and delightfully decorated with an Asian flair. The floors of course are the classic Venetian terrazzo, the ceilings equally classic with their squared wooden beams. The large windows admit plenty of light and air. The photographs associated with the TripAdvisor listing portray the apartment well.

The kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, and range. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, each with a shower, one has a bathtub.

The owners were a pleasure to correspond with and to meet. All the information they provided was perfectly accurate. I would be delighted to stay here again.

We stayed a month here. We were pleasantly surprised to find the apartment just as was advertised, and more. The historic apartment had been restored and renovated by the owners. We felt like we were in an exotic place, and we were...Venice. The apartment included a large beautiful fireplace in a spacious living area with dining table which was perfect for entertaining or relaxing during the day or evening. The location was right on a canal in a quiet, charming, sometimes bustling, italian neighborhood. The apartment was just above a wonderful restaurant, with many other great restaurants near by, as well as other shops in the Cannareggio district. We were in walking distance to a grocery store and water bus station, and a nice walk to all the main attractions. The owners were very and gracious towards us. They were easy to reach any time we had questions or concerns. This apartment was a large part of the wonderful experience we had in Venice.

We took a water taxi from Venice Airport right to the door of the house. No trekking luggage over bridges. We were met at the door by the owner's brother who gave us the keys and helped us carry the luggage up one flight of stairs. He explained whatever we needed to know. The kitchen was already stocked with some basics such as coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter, eggs and fruits. There was also a baby crib for our 19 month old grand-daughter. We easily walked to supermarkets, restaurants and to St. Mark's Square area. All very convenient. On our departure, we were helped again to bring all the luggage downstairs to our water taxi to the cruise port.

“Great spot, quirky, fun apartment.”

We had a wonderful time in Venice staying in this apartment. For starters, you can park by the windows and watch the people and the boats for hours. The restaurant below is very good and the staff even better-they turned out to be our friends during our stay. The neighborhood is super.

The apartment is although a bit quirky, like lots of rentals can be. Everything was as listed although one of the beds was very short and not especially comfortable. Also, we never could use the wifi- something wrong with the passcode or something, but we didn't pursue it with the owner...after all, it is Venice and there is plenty to do without using a computer.

All in all, the apartment is super- could do with some new beds and pillows, but that is always a problem with rentals.
