It is a small museum and easily viewed within an hour. the collection is exceptional, including paintings from many of the masters. It is housed in an 18th century palace and was the home of Peggy Guggenheim for three decades. Most of the collection is comprised of modern art, as Peggy was the wife of artist Max Ernst. Make sure to visit the garden - it is very serene with flowers, trees and art.

Having studied art history I looked forward to seeing this museum. To those visiting Venice who would like a change of pace from the incredible wealth of masterworks should come here. Peggy Guggenheim has had a tangible and lasting impact on modern art especially her patronage of Jackson Pollack. Allow 90 minutes to two hours for your visit and enjoy the cafe on its grounds. Not for everyone, this collection is so diverse and well-curated visitors are sure to find something to their taste. Do see the De Chirico (The Red Tower) as it will connect you to the sights of Venice and Florence in a dream-like way.

This museum is absolutely worth the visit. Peggy Guggenheim was an intensely interesting person and to be able to go into her once home and explore her vast art collection was a dream. Ensure you go out on the balcony to see Merini's Naked Man and catch the incredible view.

This museum is like an oasis in busy Venice. It is beautifully situated on the canal and the collection is lovely. The museum and small garden are immaculate. Highly recommend if you have the time. It was fun roaming the streets to and from the museum. Great area also.

Excellent modern Art Gallery. Nice lay laid out. Reasonable entry price.

Make sure you visit the veranda that looks out onto Grand Canal a bit of art in its own right.
