We spent a week in Venice. Usually caught lunch on the fly, but on a day when we were using the vaporetti to give ourselves a self-guided tour of the Lagoon, we made a stop at S. Elena. We asked a green grocer to tell us about restaurants, and we selected Al Diporto. Five minute walk from the S. Elena stop.
My husband had crab ravioli and I had pasta with shell fish. Many other interesting menu items. Excellent preparation and reasonable prices. If we had not been leaving the next day, we would have returned for dinner. Very few tourists there at lunch.
