Spent the afternoon with Leonardo, a born and raised true Venetian, who took us on an interesting, offbeat tour of old Venice. He shared many interesting, sometimes humorous, gems about the city’s history. He also made mentions of particular shops for items we might be interested in as well as places to eat. Back at the hotel he spent time re-tracing our steps on a Venice map and identified the particular places which he recommended. He is multi-lingual and for us spoke very good English.
