Lake just below maggiore, smaller but perfectly formed, no traffic or late night noise, just perfect for a getaway or your honeymoon, take a taxi on the lake or visit the small retreat on the island which can be viewed from hotels, restraunts around the lake, a pleasure to visit this part of Italy.

This is probably the most unspoilt of the Italian Lakes and well worth visiting, especially the peaceful island of San Guilo.

Sitting in the piazza people and island watching good for the soul! It is possible to walk almost around the peninsula both ways.

A pittoresk village with a history. Enjoy the narrow allays and the resraurants. Make sure to hike up to the sacred hght and enjoy the history of st fransicus, and the wiev over the lake.

This lake is overlooked by many because it is not well known. It's smaller and less crowded. There are wonderful paths along the lake that are fun to stroll with beautiful views, even the alps off in the distance. In the middle is a small island with a baroque basilica and a large convent. The village of Orta San Giulio is quaint and has some terrific shops and restaurants.spend at least a few days here for a rest and lots to see and do.
