We live close by La Mangiotteria, and this is an excellent option to taste some pizza focaccia. Although the place is not truly fancy, the staff will warmly welcome you and the pizza is excellent. Good for take away as well.

Thank Mtt B

We flew all night, didn t sleep much, drove an hour to our place in Milan, took a shower, changed and got outside; terribly warm!! Walked all afternoon and got lost of course and I was so mad at myself for leaving the map in the room.
So it was getting late, 8:30pm and we couldn t find a decent italian reataurant in the neighborhood where we were wandering.... I had promised my daughter that she will get a true Italian pizza and for that we had to go to Italy, so on our first day in Italy we had to get that D#%>^ pizza, so trying to find our way back to our place we stumbled upon this place, la Mangiotteria, only a few people at a table were there and to be honest I was really hesitant to go there, it looked like a restaurant you find inside a train station but considering the time I asked my daughter who was exhausted if she was OK with the place, I certainly didn t want her to be disappointed for her fisrt pizza in Italy, and she goes yes.
We entered the place not sure what to expect really, not even sure they were still serving .... But the people were welcoming and the boss showed us our table, a very small restaurant indeed, he brought us the menu and when he saw that we were a bit lost with the menu in Italian he tried to gave us some explanations in English.
The waitress, very kind, came over and took the order and I also had a botlle of "wine of
The house" for a very reasonable price, I think I paid 6 euros.....
Anyway we ordered some pizzas with a different crust than the usuals and of course it was homemade and when the pizzas arrived to the table it was magic, generous and appealing and when we ate them it was even better; the desserts were home made too for most part, 3 out 5 were.
The place is modest and has no pretention with the decorum, I ll guess that their only pretention is to make good pizzas and make you feel welcome.
The total amount was very reasonable and I asked the boss what I should do about the tips and he went "tips are included in Italy, no need!"... Very honest folks; of course I left something on top anyway.
I highly recommend this modest place because everything is true about it!!!
