“Location was great!”
Reviewed 22 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Great location in the heart of the central city. Traveled as two adult couples so one couple was on twin beds. Very clean.
Lots of stairs from the ferry to be pulling luggage.

“Comfortable, value for money apartment in centre of Lake Como”

We endorse most of the benefits of this apartment made by other reviewers - it is very clean and comfortable, and generally well equipped although cooking utensils included only 2 blunt knives and 1 wooden spoon - maybe bring your own knife and spatula! It's good value for money. Bath and swimming towels (upon request) were provided which was great. Antonella was lovely though we got no help with our luggage and the location is at the top of a steep hill served by steps or a longer route up by road - so get a taxi up. The lake and nearby sights are wonderful and a ferry pass provided a great way to see everything locally with minimal hassle and a lovely cool breeze on deck.

A big problem for us though was the noisy location of this apartment on one of the few streets in Bellagio that permits cars - the bedrooms are on this main shopping street and traffic and loud noise from inconsiderate holidaymakers talking disturbed us on and off throughout the night, even with earplugs. Shutting the double glazed windows helped considerably but made the apartment stifling hot and thus it was difficult to sleep. Our first two nights were extremely hot and humid so we were very uncomfortable. If you are sensitive to noise this is not a good apartment for you!

Moreover walking down the narrow street to the very conveniently located shops and church/square offers no pavement and means stepping aside to avoid cars /vans passing every minute or two, a truly unpleasant experience (and which would be a nightmare with young children). Finally, there are only 3 food shops in the whole town - 1 deli, 1 deli/general store and a greengrocer (no bakery though one shop sells a limited range of bread) and they are all very expensive so be prepared to spend quite a bit if you are self catering - or eating out. Bellagio is an upmarket, very touristy place. We were charged 8 euros for a pot of tea for 2 at one restaurant on the front.

That said, it's a great base for exploring the region with its villas, gardens, lakeside views, lidos, watersports, castles, churches etc all very nearby. Walk down to Pescello (another steep hill, sorry!) for a quieter place and where you can rent kayaks in the serene bay - lovely. There are excellent (hilly) walks around nearby villages too. Renting a speedboat for a couple of hours (from Menaggio / Lenno) is fabulous fun.

“Excellent place, nice price”
Reviewed 8 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Very nice, clean, well-maintained apartment, with a very good price (for Bellagio which overall accmmodation is a bit pricy). Suitable for a family with kids (max 2 I think). We went there with my 2 year-old daugther, and we loves it there.

Well-located in the middile of Bellagio city centre, a little bit up hill, and very easy access to shops, restaurants, and gloceries. What I like with this apartment is that you can find all local shops selling bread, cheese, even take-way Italian food, just at your door step. So, you can have a nice breakfast at your place, no need to go out and search around.

There is WIFI, which working perfectly well.

Antonella, the lady owner, she is very nice, even brought our luggages with the car to the place (coz it is quite hilly to wak up with the luggages) and brought them back to the ferry too :)

You might the question if it is OK not to have a lake view from your apartment when you are coming all the way to the Como lake: well, I asked the same question before I booked this place. Personally, if you plan to spend a kind of day trips/outting around the lake Como area, you will have "enough" of lake view everywhere. So, for me this apartment is a good choice as you save some euros.

“Great apartment and excellent value”

My family and I have just returned from a wonderful week in Bellagio staying at Borgo Antico Bellagio. The apartment could not have a better location - 15 yards off the main street with bedroom windows overlooking the main thoroughfare. The apartment is very spacious with an enormous new renovated bathroom. We have been to Italy virtually every year this past decade and this was the best equipped apartment we have stayed in. We had dishes, cutlery, wine glasses, etc... The apartment also comes with satellite TV and WiFi (which was amazing). The apartment was spotlessly clean when we got there and when we tried to clean it ourselves on our departure, the owner insisted that she would do it herself (!!). Antonella is a wonderful hostess and I wish her the best of luck with this apartment. Oh, by the way, the price was amazing for anything of this quality with this location in Bellagio.
