We recently traveled with young children to what maybe the most beautifully situated hotel in all of Lake Como. Bellagio is a fantastic location to experience Lake Como (better than where Villa D’Este or the Grand Tremezzo are, which were our alternatives). GHVS’ indoor and outdoor pools were a hit with our kids, as were the floating platform and the diving platform a few feet into the lake off the hotel. There was even a small playground which we didn’t discover until our last day at the hotel. Yet the hotel would be just as enjoyable for guests without children.

Our only suggestion to a hotel of this potential and price point is for a modest refresh to its rooms (bathrooms in particular need an upgrade - though everything worked fine).

We would happily choose to the Serbelloni again on our next trip to Lake Como.

Gorgeous hotel. Great Service. Fantastic rooms. Great location. Amazing pool area. Wonderful concierge desk. Great Michelin star restaurant. Nice live music in the lobby at night. The rooms can be a bit hot because they have 20 ft ceilings but they are happy to bring you a fan to help. We were in the main hotel area which was from the original hotel and it was great. I actually can't find a thing to complain about in any serious way.

Room Tip: Try and stay in the original hotel part of the complex

Stayed in a room with a balcony. This was the absolute best idea I had the whole trip. When I felt like just hanging out and sunbathing with the wife, we stayed on the secluded balcony with a great view. Super tall ceilings, large, double-sink bath, awesome bed and great halls. The breakfast dining hall and food were really quite fantastic with wonderful service as well.

WARNING!! To get to the hotel you will need to drive through the bricked walking district!!! You will swear you are not supposed to be there and after we were told we did exactly what we were supposed to do, we watched a few other vehicles drive down the same bricked street with the same horrified look on their faces as we had when we assumed we were in the wrong place! Hilarious!

The concierge was absolutely fantastic! He was able to get us reservations to any of the local restaurants we requested. The check in staff was also quite fantastic!

This location is absolutely perfect! It has the best views and the best location. It is relatively quiet at night and even though it has air conditioning, we slept with the windows wide open on the third floor and the lake temperature kept the room the perfect temperature all night (We were there in early August 2018). It was by far the best sleep we had during the entire trip

The poolside bar was also very well staffed and very enjoyable! I would give this place another stay if I came back to this place. It was a great experience!

Room Tip: Room 252 has the best view in the entire hotel with a secluded and private balcony

Second visit.
2017 was 100%.
2018 was 95%. Beautifull place, friendly staff, superb room.
Only the gastronomique restaurant Mistral was less than 2017. Filet was asked to be rare and was served medium. The maitre returned it to the kitchen, as wel as the other main dish (veal). The 2nd filet was rare, but the veal was kept under the lamps and therefore to dry. Also we asked some time between the first course and main dish, and this was not respected.
Last year we were convinced to come back, this year we have to think it over.

Staying at the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni transported us to another time.
We were reminded of the grand hotels of the 1920s.
The service is impeccable and the rooms are gorgeous.
Each evening a three piece band plays in the salon. The breakfast and breakfast room are grand in every way. This hotel is our favorite for the view, the loveliness of the grounds, service and extraordinary elegance.
We plan to visit next year for our 30th wedding anniversary. This place is worth every penny.
