Once again we found our way to hotel Nella. Our pied a Terre for La Spezia. Great breakfast, clean rooms, wonderful host... what more can you ask for? I would highly recommend this. It is truly a gem waiting to be discovered. My wife loved it. Great for families or romantic hideaways
Our review is from a little bit before march 2022. I apologize for being busy and not getting to it. It is a wonderful little gem of a hotel. The stock hotel photos tell the story.
It had a wonderful breakfast. The staff were amazing. We had 6 people staying in 3 different rooms. Clean, Quiet, Quant, Charming, Not opulent.. but VERY romantic. I was there with my kids and my wife was not on the trip (she had to stay back in the USA) Perhaps THAT was why the trip was so enjoyable?? I am heading back there in June of this year and would not stay anywhere else.
The room was a good size, it was comfortable.
The bathroom was to small and the shower was so small you could hardly turn.
The door of the bathroom jammed, so it was really uncomfortable to go in and out the the bathroom. I told this to the receptionist, nothing happend.
The room was also noisy, you could hear people talk outside on the balcony.
We especially booked a hotel outside the city for some peace.
The staff was friendly and the breakdown was okee.
The hotel is very old, no renovation since building! The room are very noisy, one can hear toilet flush from the room next! The bathroom was too small and the shower itself was a joke! I will never book this hotel again and my advise would be, avoid this hotel and look for a better one!
I was finishing up a review of another hotel I stayed at recently in La Spezia and saw this listing. It brought back some great memories. I stayed here once MANY years ago. I was by myself and didn't know what I was doing. This was before cell phones and google maps, and I mis-calculated the distance from the train station. I had to get a taxi which cost almost as much as the room back then! The staff was SO NICE! I still remember their kindness and patience with me. One of the ladies who worked there even drove me to the city center in her own car when she got off work.
