Summer Break

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 22 Aug 2017via mobile
Stayed here during the Summer and will hopefully return in the near future. Lovely B&B with a stunning view and charming breakfast each morning, the owners also gave us sandwich bags to bring our leftovers with us to appreciate more during the hiking. Perfect location for those wishing to chill out and hike in the Cinque Terre
Date of stay: June 2016

Cozy and scenic. Breakfast was a feast every morning, and provides fuel for some massive hiking. Be prepared to either bus down or tackle the hills, as Volastra is up the hillside. The closest laundry facility is two villages over, so pack well. The walks can get long, but we were able to hike to all five villages; although we took a taxi back from Monterosso.

Room tip: There are only 3 rooms. Get one of the two with doors opening to the outside.

Stayed here for a romantic break - first class hospitality from Franca and her husband. Breakfast was massive and set us up for the day. Although a little walk from Volastra town centre the bus was very frequent - we'd recommend getting a carnet.

Would really like to keep this place a secret, but everyone should know that NiRia is an amazing place to stay. (Thank you Franco for being such a great hostess!). Cinque Terre might be one of the beautiful places on earth, but NiRia is the best place to view it. You can hike from there over to Corniglia and then on to Vernazza. Most beautiful hike ever! Yes, you must take the bus up from Riomaggiore, but doesn't matter. Only 2 places to eat, but both very good! So glad we stayed at NiRia....looking forward to coming back!

Room tip: Just go.....no room is bad.

Our first trip to Cinque Terre and we picked the best place to stay. We drove to NiRia which was fun. The view from NiRia is amazing with the mountain and ocean views. Breathtaking!! Our rooms were spacious and very clean. Breakfast was delicious with all the homemade goods. Franka who was our host was so accommodating and willing to help with our needs. There are hiking trails with a couple hundred feet of NiRia. Can't wait to come back!!

My wife and I are from India and we were on our dream vacation in Europe. Having heard a lot about Cinque terre we wanted to spend two nights - I so wish we had spent a whole week in the 5 terres!! Its been two years and I have been missing this place a lot, so came back to write about it.

A lot has been written about the nice location, the quaint charming village and the people who run this place, but I wanted to share our personal experience..

Yes, the location is a bit hard to reach and we took a cab from one La spezia, but no worries around that. Volastra is a quaint village and the B&B is located at a nice location with stunning views of the ocean.. The food was exquisite and we really relished the hot, fresh breakfast and were introduced to how a real traditional Italian breakfast should and would be. (Ohh, the hot Foccacia, simply the best I've ever tasted!!!). Also the walkway that starts right outside Niria is a great walk and a great way to reach the 5 terres..

However, what we really liked was the way Niria family treated us as their guests truly. Monica and Andre were really great hosts, even though we couldn't understand each other much. On the day of departure we had an early train and he dropped us to the town in his car. It reminded me of the hospitality we Indians are famous for and I truly felt like we were staying with very close relatives in our family.. I don't know if the gratitude we expressed was understood!

If we go back, we'll definitely stay here and longer than two nights..
