The staff are fantastic and the breakfast is amazing, it’s in an idyllic location 3 to 4 minutes out of the town but is served superbly by the free shuttle service at set times to and from the village. Alternatively there is a frequent bus service if needed. Fantastic base to visit Cirque Terre.

When we arrived at La Serra Sul Mare we were warmly greeted, shown to our room, and immediately offered some snacks that included Prosecco & local olives. We stayed in the "Lavanda" room on the second floor. Try to book this charming room! We had a lovely balcony & interior window with great sea & cliff views. The location is so peaceful that we opened the window & doors for sleeping, and enjoyed the cool breeze off the water. Slept like a baby. The room was equipped with everything we needed and more. The small frig had beverages, & wine was available in the room at a reasonable cost. Small bathroom, nice shower. Breakfast was amazing! Crepes, eggs, eggplant parm, pastries, prosciutto, cheese, fruit, and more. The food just kept coming. We stayed 2 nights and hated to leave! Sabrina (an owner), and Francesca were wonderful hosts. A private shuttle took us to and from town-5 minute drive down the hill. Shuttle times were convenient. It was nice to be close to shops, yet return in the evening to the quiet of the countryside. Romantic, perfect for 2.

Room Tip: Second floor "lavanda" room has balcony with sea & cliff views.

We stayed here for three nights and had a lovely time. We were offered a glass of wine, olives and a pastry in our room on arrival. The room was clean and pleasant, but the breakfast was incredible! Beyond expectations - Each morning we were served bread, eggs, something else hot, fruit, pastries, juice, tea/coffee... and each morning it was slightly different.
The hotel had a lovely view and was far enough away from the town to escape the crowds and close enough to walk to town (about 15 mins). They also had a free taxi service which came with a timetable making it easy to get to and from the room - by taxi it was only about 5 minutes from town.

Monterosso is a tiny town in Chinqua Terra - the national park of Italy It is a very nice place with a small sand beach. the sae is vert quite there because it is the bucht surrounded with cliffs There are lots of small cosy restaurants and cafes there with the most fresh frutti di mare... You get there quite easily by train from Milan and it is very quick and convenient.. The most beautiful and magnetic view of the place could be taken from the sea..
