“Magnificent Views over the Cinque Terre”
Reviewed 9 January 2013 for a stay in July 2012

As a family of four adults we were delighted with finding, and staying, at Appartamento Panorama in Manarola for five nights. What a great decision that was. We booked through Anna at Arbaspàa months in advance and everything was professionally handled.
We arrived by train and the Arbaspàa office was only a short walk away in the centre of town. Check-in was very efficient and we were taken to our apartment by another person at Arbaspàa.
It was a bit of a climb up a steep hill and stairs to the apartment - but if you take your time it really is not a hassle. Was it worth the climb? - definitely - the views from the balcony were amazing, especially at sunset, and it was in a nice, quiet neighbourhood.
The apartment had two small, but perfectly adequate, bedrooms. One had a double bed and the other had two single beds. There was a well-equipped kitchen (refrigerator, stove, oven, grill etc.) with a dining table and chairs, a bathroom, a washing machine and dryer, and the previously mentioned balcony that looked out over the village, the surrounding hillsides and the sea.
Manarola is a very pretty and quiet little village – even in the peak tourist season! To walk to the centre of the village from Appartamento Panorama was only about five to 10 minutes. We made use of the small supermarkets/delicatessans and stocked up on supplies for breakfast, lunch and a couple of dinners out on the balcony! The village has a number of excellent restaurants that were very reasonably priced. We dined out one night at Trattoria Dal Billy – the world renowned seafood restaurant right next door. It was well worth the visit!
During the time we were in Manarola we walked between the five villages (including the over-the-mountain track from Manarola to Corniglia), caught the ferry to Portofino and the train to La Spezia plus the bus to Portovenere. Manarola is in a great position to be able to do so many things in this part of Italy.
At first I thought five nights/four days in Manarola could be too long but we certainly could have stayed several more days. To say that Manarola/Cinque Terre/Apartamento Panorama was the highlight of our stay in Italy is an understatement!!! It was fantastic!!

“Small apartment, great views!”
Reviewed 29 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

We booked this apartment for 3 adults and 1 child, but really it is only suitable for 2 adults and 1-2 children, because the single beds in the second bedroom are not full sized and are more like camp beds - unstable and uncomfortable.
The kitchen has two electric elements that are very hard to cook on because they don't get very hot. The views from the narrow balcony are amazing, which made up for the other problems in the apartment.
If I was coming back to this area, I would try to find somewhere else to stay - we left our booking to the last minute and this place was all that was available.

Liked best: The view from the narrow balcony was amazing!
Liked least: The two single beds in the second bedroom are really not suitable for adults, they are very small and not stable - great for children. The shower is impossible to use without water going all over the floor.
