I think we found a local's favorite! These people take a great deal of pride in their food and atmosphere. Although the restaurant is quite small we did not feel crowded. We were the only tourists in the restaurant. Our server spoke English well and took the time to explain the dishes. We ordered the variety ravioli and the sliced steak. The food was incredible and the servers managed the full restaurant very well.

We wanted to have good Prosciutto di Parma and other Salumi, we wanted to have the famous tortelli and we checked out trip advisor, we landed at the Officina Alimentare and we ordered all we wanted including the famous torta fritta and a good bottle of wine. the result was a dinner that me an my colleague will remember as the perfect dinner in Parma, easy and with local food at reasonable price. If you look for an amazing location not but if you look for a simple place and fantastic food go there surely. The staff is very very very kind. Recommened

One of the problems I have with travel in a place like Italy is that you eat a lot, but other than walking to a gazillion places, there is no way to work out! After last night, I DON'T CARE. A fantastic dinner that neither of us needed!

We arrived around 7:30 and had a reservation. There were a couple of tables occupied, but this place is very small. They were setting up for a party of twenty, but made us feel that we were their customer for the night. Attentive, but not overbearing service, a beautiful simple space to match the presentation of the food. But don't confuse simple with plain.

We started with some prosciutto di Parma - excellent. I also tried the cicciolata, a sort of head cheese - also excellent. The fried pizza dough was truly heavenly - just eat that and you will be happy you came. This was followed with the Parmigian cheese tasting of 24, 30 and 36 months. If you haven't done this, you must. Each very different.

Next I had a ravioli like pasta filled with fresh ricotta and herbs with a tomato sauce. Every aspect of this dish was light - in a good way. No heavy dark tomato sauce, no dense cheese filling. A wonderful dish. My wife had the anolini in brodo. Fantastic! The broth was the best I have eaten. The anolini were little puffs of pasta filled with cheese. The total effect was sublime. A wonderful meal.

Just a note on the wine. I asked for a local dry white and was poured a glass of La Mole made in Parma. This is an excellent dark almost orange color, but went beautifully with the prosciutto and cheese. Then a dry Lambrusco was great.

Definitely recommend you try here.

We've had many "tradizionale" meals in the region, and Officina was a breath of fresh air. Amazingly delicious fresh salad, grilled fennel and a "tagliata" (sliced steak) that was like butter. And the "pasta fresca" of the day was also delicious --two kinds of ravioli with two different sauces, perfectly perpared. So, if you are looking for something a bit more creative, yet still with big hints of tradition, this is the place. Great local wines as well. Not to miss.
