After visiting the historical center of Parma you have to book a table at Trattoria Il Cortile for lunch or dinner. If you are a fan of the culatello (we talked about lately) you will have a lot of satisfaction.
We decided to start anyway with a fish appetizer mix : smoked salmon, scallops au gratin, warm octopus salad, all accompanied by delicious brioche bread.
For first courses they have a great option of small portions of different dishes, I love that! You can try a bit of each….and we had ravioli with fresh herbs, butter and sage, garganelli (hand-rolled tubular pasta) with culatello ragù, tortelli stuffed with cooked shoulder….they were all delicious.
You can match very good local wine or from different Italian regions.
To finish great surprise of the dessert trolley, nasty and tempting, even if you think you are done you can’t resist and believe me, it’s worth committing the sin ;) especially for “zuppa inglese” (traditional Italian pudding) it is amazing.
Il Cortile has also a great catering service for every occasion, check their website.
In the restaurant the atmosphere is warm and familiar, Maria and her staff makes you feel at home I guess the pictures say it all….then the food is really worth having a stop in Parma.
