Wine bars. I am not sure what people expect. I have read the reviews for this wine bar and this place should be consistently 5 stars. Why is that - first, massive selection; second - knowledgeable barman; third - good simple food to enjoy with your wine; and fourth - a nice cozy attractive place to stand and have a drink with family and friends. If you are expecting a multi course meal with great wine, you will get the great wines part. The place is set up to have you sit or stand or both and enjoy a snack and some wine.

The diversity of wines impressed me. The variety of grapes are nothing like you would bet in the US or U.K. I could spend a week here and still have tons to learn.

The ham and cheese plate was superb. The 6 or 7 wines tasted were excellent and covered some of the orange wines, unoaked Sangiovese, Syrah, barbaresco, bubbly rose and, I think a couple of whites.

You have to go here. Awesome evening.

We stumbled on Enoteca Tabarro by accident and enjoyed it so much, we went back a second night! It's a small wine bar serving small plates of deliciousness too. It's also a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Even in November, the front doors of this charming spot are open to the pedestrian only street. Large wine barrels out front act as tables as people come and go, enjoying a glass of wine with friends. There are a few stools available too. The wine selection is amazing. Inside or out, you will enjoy your vino in the proper glass. Charcuterie is ordered by board size and the local prosciutti is hand sliced while you wait. Staff is knowledgeable and welcoming - you arrive a stranger but leave feeling like a local!

We came here early in the evening when the bar tender still had time to advise us on the wine options and to explain the details of the producers. We found all wines to be of excellent quality, and the place to have a special charm, also appreciated by the locals.

This small, but friendly, enoteca/wine bar has a genuine local ambience, with reasonably priced wine. There is seating inside and a standing area outside with barrels to place drinks on. The pedestrian street outside is probably the busiest in Parma.

A more reserved but still casual spot on Str. Luigi Carlo Farini. A nice atmosphere and even had live music during the afternoon. Worth a look.
