I don't know whether we should be ashamed, but we actually did not choose to enter this place. However, we did find a nice spot at a bar opposite this building and had an apertivo while enjoying the view of it.

It stands on the east side of Piazza Grande, to the side of the Duomo and Ghirlandina, with a beautiful Renaissance façade, porches and a harmonious clock tower, spelling out Modena's wealth and prominent place in the region.

The monumental rooms of Palazzo Comunale are open to public for free on workdays and for some small amount on week-ends (inform yourself). You have to find the stairs, go to the first floor, ask at the reception and someone will accompany you to the state rooms which are partially decorated by Niccolo' dell'Abate and partially adorned by Baroque frescoes. There is not much else to see, not like in Bologna with its Collezioni Comunali dell'Arte.

Come and stroll around and watch the crowds. Many nice shops on the adjoining streets, Large animated cafe under the arches with outdoor heated seating. The tower and the Doumo are beautiful.

This is a unique place . Here we found many interesting things. I loved the small antique piano found in the last room.
