My partner had been staying here every year during the Bologna Book Fair. It has certainly gone down hill. The room that we were given was in some wing that didn't look like it was cleaned frequently. The bar had closed. The staff gave me some very dubious instructions to an internet cafe which I needed because the wi-fi wasn't working long enough to send an email. The breakfast was very average with no fresh food provided (long life bread, ;processed cheese, tins of fruit.) On the plus side, the coffee was OK and the hotel is well situated.

Our problems started when we arrived at the hotel which looked completely different from the booking photos. This Hotel is really old. Secondly, our door didn't shut properly therefore it wouldn't lock at all so we had to ask a member of staff to come see to solve the problem and said we had to wait until 4 for a technician to come fix the door but we had reservations so we had to leave our luggage and other personal belongs in the room with the door unlocked. Thirdly, the hotel room was very very old, the carpet was extremely dirty with huge stains on them, the floor was also very squeaky so when someone would go to toilet in the middle of the night it would wake up the other people in the room, the bathrooms had a very strong smell of urine, the lighting in the rooms were really poor to the point we used our phone torch to get ready, which added on to making the room even more creepy than it was. Also we were extremely disappointed with the breakfast, there wasn't a big variation of things to choose from and they served processed cheese when there are many types of fresh cheeses in Italy, and the fruit came from cans. This hotel had an appearance to be more of hospital or care home than of a hotel, the furniture you could tell it was more 50 years old, the hotel needs to be refurnished and renewed. It is not good value for your money whatsoever as you don't get what you pay for, I would give this hotel 0 stars if we could, booking has made a mistake by classifying this as a 3 star hotel.

The hotel has a perfect location. If you travel by car it is perfect, because there is a private parking inside the building (although you pay for it on daily bases). You can walk to all the sightseeing places Bologna offers, the location is perfect. The rooms are large. The bathroom is also very big and is clean. The decoration is a little outdated, but for me that is not an issue. The breakfast is decent, but there is not much choice. I definitely recommend for this price.

Loved it. Lots of character, very clean, great location, professional and helpful staff. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Central neighbourhood with loads to see, eat and do. Very safe late at night. Single room on fourth floor was spacious, had a bath tub and a view. Was moved to a twin which had a small shower, but okay for the price.

Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

Nice hotel in the main city. Walking distance to everywhere.
Rooms are comfortable, however had some problem with the air co.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
All the sites are just around the corner.
Breakfast was good.
