We used to go to the Bologna fair every year and were looking for the place close enough to the fair, but completely different by its atmosphere.
Torre di Jano was amazing discovery. To reach the place it is not easy, specially in the dark as there is no light and there are plenty of curves on the road. We have almost given up.
Luckily, we couldn't find a place to turn the car so we got to Tore, finding also amazing gourmet restaurant there. Great wine and authentic food.
Room was very big, we had three beds in the room and funny construction for the shower in the middle of the room. Toilet was outside, down the corridor. Nothing bothered us, all being so beautiful. One could think not so much luxurious, specially in the winter, but we used to come back and send all our friends which were going to region of Bologna.
They all loved it. Rooms with high ceilings covered with ancient paintings. Breakfast was served in a room with old fire place and no angles. Every corner of the room served as a cupboard and it looked like the room is round.
Very basic Italian breakfast with good coffee and home made confiture. The personnel were almost invisible, but very kind. Taking a walk in the property is specially charming in the morning. Amazing views and nature. If you are looking for authentic place which safeguarded its atmosphere from late nineteenth century mansion do not miss Torre.Unique place.
It has been a while since our last visit, but we are looking forward to go back again and to see what has changed.
