We decided to go for a taste meny of fish. That was terrible decision. We have ben eating menus many times but this was a total disaster when in comes to taste. Some of the courses was hardly eatable. The wine and the service perfect / but a place like this should never ever present a meal like this. The wine was presented perfect. In the light that we often eat in restaurangs with one or more stars i Guide Michelin it was a clear disappointment. You have to work hard to resolve. If you cant keep up during low season, shut down,

Smart room, hushed tones and young, good looking service. This would be a special occasion venue for most of us,but we visited as there was a storm outside. The food and wine were all good,as was the service, but overall we felt it lacked character and spark.

We stayed at this hotel last June and came again this June because it is perfect. The Marche is as yet mainly undiscovered by the British which is fabulous! It is 'real' Italy at its best. Apulia is stunning - but now very very expensive. The Marche offers beautiful rolling countryside, Bologna to fly in to and visit but also some of the most beautiful coast and beaches in ALL of Italy. We love it. This hotel Excelsior is one of the very best we have stayed at, in all of the world. Seriously, it beats the Four Seasons and a whole host of places in Europe and Middle East. The staff are absolutely the best - charming, helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The décor is chic and modern - black and white - but all really functional too. Rooms are cool - go for a junior suite. Modern bathrooms, nice products, great showers. The main restaurant (59?) is superb but the best thing about the hotel is the breakfast and the breakfast room. Superb! Oh, and the lido beach restaurant, we don't normally eat at hotel beach restaurants but this is the best! #A generous glass of Prosecco and a dish of spaghetti vongole, what more do you need. Special thanks to Daniele the Barista, the superb staff in breakfast and lido and the beach boys. Biggest thanks to the Reception team for ALL their help and local tips. Pesaro itself offers much more than you might think, loads to see and do and other restaurants to try. We will be back! Thank you all for such a fabulous week in June!

The 59 is a nice beach restaurant linked to hotel Excelsior. We had several lunches during our stay. Service with a big smile, good choice menu. The make very nice pasta and salads. We love the panadella with pasta and seafood sauce. It's worth a try when you are in Pesaro.

This is a true jewel at the Adriatic Coast. We hesitated with our booking first, due to the separate cost for the beach chairs, but after seeing the hotel we did not regret our decision to book a two week vacation here. The hotel is in a good condition, stylish, modern and probably the most recently renovated hotel on the coastline. The seamless interior design reminds of the glory of the fifties at the New England coast. The very tasteful decorated public areas and and places invite you to lounge and immerse yourself into the time of seaside adventures. The white and grey tones provide a clean interior and light atmosphere. The staff, without any exceptions are helpful and friendly. There is always a smile and a friendly greeting for you.
The hotel manager Mr. Cristiano Zucchiatti is ever present and attends to his guests in an extremely professional and courteous manner. He is available to talk to guests and to make sure you find your stay enjoyable. The high reputation of his hotel important to him and reflects the motivation of the hotel staff. His front office team present a high level of efficiency and offer assistance at any guest needs. We use the very upkeep hotel bicycles to tour the nearby historic part with shops and sights of Pesaro. The food&beverage team make every effort to provide unpretentious service making one feel welcome. We tried the Cafe almost every day and find the food and wine selections on the sufficient menu very tasty at reasonable pricing. Breakfast is way above what we know from any resort hotel we seen in Italy.
We still need to try the gourmet restaurant and will write a separate note later on that experience.
