This was my favourite part of Rome. Possibly the most amazing place I've ever seen, its absolutely huge and the beauty of the art inside is just jaw dropping. It will take you over an hour to walk all the way around and look at everything but it is worth that time, this is in my opinion one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. I would highly recommend going to the top of the dome as well, from the top the view is breathtaking and you can see all across Rome. However, I would not recommend going to the top with the elderly or small children as the space is very small and cramped. The queue jump is definitely worth it and can be bought from a shop in the Vatican. Absolutely must do!

The experience of life can be had every Wednesday by joining the Pope for a public mass, tickets are always free and can be collected the day before at the Bronze guard just outside the Basilica. Not meant for Catholics only, good for uplifting the spirit.

While technically free, I recommend seeing St. Peter's Basilica as part of a Skip-the-line tour with Grayline. By scheduling in advance, not only can you avoid the very long security line, you will also be sure to have admittance as special events can close access, and booking in advance helps to avoid such possibilities.

We were very lucky to get tickets for this event.St Peters day.It just happen to be on while we were in Rome.It was a wonderful experience.Over 75000 people attending mass It was more like a speculator show then mass. With the pope has the main start. It starts at 9 30 But you need to be there at 7 30 If you want to get a good seat near the top

It is a beautiful site to see, with all the history and words can’t describe the feelings that come to you walking through this holy place and I’m not catholic. You could be here for a week and not even come close to seeing everything there is to see. You need to arrive early and if you can buy your tickets early that would be a big plus. If you are there you need to see the Sisteen chapel!!
