We were in Room 412. Although the room was compact, the terrace made up for this. The views from this side of the hotel were not great but room and hotel were clean and modern and breakfast was fine.
The hotel is a short walk from the Metro and St. Paul's Basilica. We walked most days into central Rome either along the banks of the river or up the main road, Ostiense.
The metro is ideal for trips to the Lido / beach area - we stopped at Ostia Antica to view the fantastic ruins and then back on the train to the terminus Columbo and then a great walk along the seaside / beach front.
Even in October there are big queues for the main sights so plan for this. We had a few meals in Trasvestere but choose / research wisely as the quality and prices vary hugely.
We found the walk through the park to Garibaldi's monument and the lighthouse a real escape from the crowds.A train ride to Villa d'Este and the Tivoli Gardens is a must if you have the time.
The hotel itself seems to centre around the dining room / cafeteria / bar area and there was some noise each night while staff rearranged the furniture for breakfast.
However, the hotel is a smart modern building, staff are brilliant and prices are very reasonable.More
