Owner description: The best Walking tours of Jewish Rome. Micaela Pavoncello established her business in 2003 to share the amazing history of the Jewish community of Rome. Don't miss her tours of Jewish and regular Rome.

Mikaela was vivacious and knowledgeable. Her overview of the synagogue, the two congregations and the contents of the museum was most informative. Due to scheduling issues we booked an afternoon tour which did not allow for time afterward to return to the museum which I would have liked. I recommend booking a time which allows for returning to the Synagogue at the end of the tour.

I heard from a friend about Mikaela and I must say it was probably the greatest tour I ever took. She was knowledgable, funny, witty and kept us all the time interested. You learn so much about Rome and the jewish community while you have also alot of fun. I dont think there is a better way to get to know Rome, especially the jewish history of it with insights of the jewish life there today. Take the tour, itvwill enhance your trip tremendously!!!!

Micaela is knowledgeable and charming. My husband and I learned such a great deal in such a short time. Well worth the cost and time and we both highly recommend her expertise. Arlene and Alan from Philadelphia, PA

Micaela is one of the best guides we have ever worked with. She essentially started the Jewish tours of the Rome Ghetto and the Great Synagogue and it shows. We did a morning tour with Micaela and her depth of knowledge, personal stories of her family’s life in Rome, her sense of humor, and her deep connection to her work are all simply wonderful. If you are going to tour the Ghetto or the Great Synagogue there is no better guide than Micaela and Jewish Roma.

In the afternoon we used Jewish Roma and Sara to tour the Vatican Museums from a Jewish perspective. This was a truly unique tour that addressed many of the cultural and political interactions - and not just religious - between the Papacy and the Roman Jewish community over the past nearly 2,000 years. Additional focuses on Jewish art, antiquities, and burial related items also played heavy roles. The most extensive time though was spent reviewing many of the individual components of the Sistine Chapel ceiling and the significant apparent role of Jewish beliefs, language and traditions that are somewhat concealed within the beautiful art. Beyond fascinating.

An AMAZING tour!! Marco was so friendly and informative, definitely kept the entire tour interesting and personal. It was a group of three of us, and we connected well with Marco, the tour allowed us to ask many questions and speak to him freely. If are to book any tour in Italy and realize that you will get your money’s worth from this tour, this is it. We are three students, and we really really cannot look at the Vatican the same! very much recommend the tour and Micaela was super easy to communicate with!!
