I took my wife here for her 40th Birthday over the Easter weekend.
It was a great experience - service was exceptional. Food was really good. We had their Easter Sunday (5 course) dinner upon arrival - it was delicious.
The Spa is quite small so we didnt spend much time there.
The grounds and the building were beautiful.
The trip into town is easy - you get the shuttle bus to the local station and then its about 20-30 mins into town. If you're used to using trains at home - it was straight forward. Definitely worth the relaxing surrounding.
I actually paid twice (as I had paid expedia) and then again upon leaving. The team at Castello called me within 20 mins to inform me of this and arranged a refund immediately. I'd definitely go back.

This place is so beautiful, it needs to be seen to be believed. The staff are so helpful and polite and it’s always wonderfully clean.
It is situated a fair way from the centre of Rome but this was no problem at all as the hotel offers a free shuttle service to the train station, the drivers of which where always ready to help and were very professional. The trains run smoothly and are very fairly priced too. In truth, the hotel’s distance from the city is all a main part of it’s charm. It sits among rolling fields with roaming horses and luscious woodland, stunning!
The restaurant here is a real treat also! A gorgeous atmosphere, wonderful service and the food is mouth wateringly good.
I highly recommend the Castle of the Castellucia to anyone wanting to visit Rome while still enjoying the tranquility that Italy has to offer. Older families, couples and individuals alike can all enjoy it. We will certainly be visiting again soon.

Beautiful inside and outside. There was a breathtaking dining hall with a large fireplace. very good service, nice sauna and jacuzzi, well appointed, large rooms. The restaurant served good food in the wonderful hall mentioned above. Breakfast was unfortunately not so rich in variety, but they do make some tasty cakes. There are two large free parkings, but they fill up easily during holidays (we have been there at Christmas 2017). It is quite far from the center of Rome, best to go with your own car/motorcycle.

Stayed here for a week with my husband and 3 children in the family suit in the main building to celebrate by 50th birthday and it certainly didn't disappoint. There are so many positive things to say about his hotel. Setting is stunning, hotel is full of character, rooms are spacious, the breakfast was plentiful and tasty but what made the trip for me were the staff. All the staff from the receptonist to the waiting staff and drivers were all helpful and lovely to deal with. Every one of them made us feel welcome

As we travelled in April pool was still shut but it looks lovely and sure will be a welcome addition during the summer months. We did use the spa which is quite small but has a couple of jacuzzi's, steam room and sauna, They do massages but you have to plan and book in advance.

Apart from the fabulous breakfasts, we only ate in the hotel once and the food and service was fabulous. Probably worth notig that there is no casual dining in the hotel, which with 3 kids was the only downside as the restaurant is more of a formal dining experience. This is the only reason I chopped off a star. Certainly didn't spoil it for us but there were a couple of days where we would probably have stayed around the hotel if there had been other less formal options available but we travelled into Rome.centre instead.

The location was a real plus for us but should say it is a bit of a jaunt to get to the centre, although really easy to navigate and there is a courtesy bus that will take you to and from the station organised via the hotel reception.. Hotel also sells tickets (1.50 each way so reasonablly priced) Realistically you will be an hour door to door roughly to all the main tourist attractions on the train and Metro.

To sum up we had the best time in Rome and I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat, Certainly up there on the favourite list now. Thanks to all at the Castle for a wonderful stay. I do hope that we will be back one day.

We stayed at the Hotel Castello for 4 nights and we loved every bit of it. The staff had been very helpful right from the booking up to the checkout. The rooms were spotless and we had a good view from our bedroom.
We had dinner at the restaurant 2 nights and had drinks at the bar one night, and we were very impressed by the food and the service. The continental breakfast was very good as well.
We used public transport to get to the centre of Rome. The hotel offers free shuttle service to and from the nearest train station and then it's pretty easy to get to the centre of the city via the train and metro. The hotel staff spoke English which was helpful as we didn't speak Italian and there was a lovely cat Penelope who stole our heart right from day 1.

There was a wedding on one of the nights during our stay, but we had no trouble getting served at the bar and there was a separate dining area for the hotel guests. This showed that the guests were well taken care of.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Castello and will definitely stay here when we visit Rome next!
