I had a hard time finding this market because it is located beyond the Rome tourist office map. I did find it, and it's beautiful! All you would expect from a market in Rome, which means a lot. Friendly and free wifi.

Great little market with lots of fresh fruit, veg and goodies. The stall holders were so friendly to us even with our poor Italian. We bought fresh pasta with a cup of fresh pesto. Most delicious thing we ever ate!! Lovely bread from the bakery. The seafood looked good too. Renovated area in the middle where you can enjoy the produce and a coffee. Lots of fun.

If you pass there have a look. We have made some good deals on leather bags, womens' tops and dresses. Not a lot of things but also not crowded at all.

Just a block away from Porta Pia, northeast of the Borghese Park, you can find this charming market hall in the piazza that intersects with four streets. It's not nearly as extensive as Mercato dell'Esquilino but serves most of your needs and has a real feel of everyday Rome. We tend to visit this place every time we go to Rome, especially as one of our favourite restaurants is close by.
