It's small, out-of-the way and therefore rarely busy, but we've been back several times. The seafood is always good, the Sardegnan specialties are the real thing, and the owner./chef is delightful!

A chance encounter with some friends took me to Capu Scintu, a Sardinian enclave within the Quartiere Africano area of Rome. Although this residential neighbourhood is not usually on the must-see list for tourists this little restaurant in Via Sirte is worth the trek, and the Metro will (hopefully) soon reach this part of town. As befits Sardinia's seafood tradition, the meal started with an anchovy appetiser, and soon matured into a bowl of piping hot mussels, and linguine with crayfish, followed by Orata (Sea Bream) cooked in white wine sauce, rounding up with limoncello cake and grappa with chillies. An astonishingly complete meal, delivered with expert skill by Salvatore, and far better quality than some of the tourist joints that populate the city centre. I will certainly be returning as soon as possible.
