We were in Rome from 25th March and our Hotel was the Savoy. I stayed with my grandson, son and daughter in law. When we arrived we were informed about a little gadget that they had in the room called a concierge. This consists of a phone that is loaded with maps and information on places to visit. This gadget was absolutely invaluable and helped us find our way around Rome. You can use it every day and take it out of the Hotel. It is yours for the duration of the break.
Back to the Hotel. It was all very clean, efficient and staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good standard and looked like they had recently been refurbished. We ate in the Restaurant on one occasion. The food was very good as was the wine. Prices were a bit on the steep side, but this is Rome and nothing is cheep. The location was very good. Most things were no longer than a walk away. With the gadget this was easy as you could choose your route as it showed several. The area was quieter than a lot of other areas and the Villa Borghese was right on the doorstep. There were plenty of restaurant's and clubs in the vicinity if that is what you require. I would recommend anyone going to Rome gets a copy of the Lonely Planet Pocket Guide, as it was invaluable looking for places to eat when you were visiting places like the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain, especially if you are on a budget.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good place in a quieter location.

Recently stayed here for 4 nights and it is a beautiful hotel set on a fairly busy road but as our room over looked the courtyard we were not disturbed at all.
The lobby is very grand , reception staff friendly and helpful. A bell boy took our cases to our room which we were very pleased with(prepare to tip). Ample room, flat screen TV, safe, minibar and large bathroom.Coffee and tea making facilities are in the room but only paper cups provided-1 each per day! Full range of complimentary toiletries.
There were 3 of us in the room so we could have done with a bit more hanging space for clothes.
Large selection at breakfast which was very tasty, didn't eat in the restaurant but did enjoy drinks on the roof top terrace which has a great view over the city.

Room tip: Choose a room over looking the courtyard.

Just returned from a weekend at this fabulous hotel. The reception team were exceptional and their help and advice ensured that we packed such a lot into our short break. As others have said, the rooms on the sixth floor do suffer with noise from staff working nearby, but reception were very quick to move us to a much quieter room when we raised this with them. This didn't spoil our break. The rooms are very clean, breakfast is good and the hotel is in easy walking distance from lots of attractions. We would visit again.

Room tip: Avoid the sixth floor.

Stayed at the Hotel Savoy as part of a pre-booked trip. It's a slightly faded grandeur sort of place, our bathroom was straight out of the 1980s. We would have preferred a double bed rather than two singles pushed together, but this is common on the continent I think. Although it's on a fairly busy street, sleep quality is excellent - not only is there double glazing but also snug fitting internal metal shutters which completely block out any noise and act as blackout blinds. Provision of toiletries was good and towels changed daily: however, although tea and coffee are provided, you only get an allowance of one teabag each per day, and only paper cups - which you have to re-use if you want more than one drink. Presumably they want you to buy one of the souvenir cups and saucers for sale at reception. Could do with a mirror in the bedroom rather than just in the bathroom. A generous and good-quality buffet breakfast in an attractive basement room, but if staying, I wouldn't bother with the restaurant on the top floor, there are better options in the nearby streets. The food was average but my main complaint was that because the restaurant space is more or less fully enclosed, it must just about comply with the sides being open enough to allow smoking, and almost everyone seemed to be smoking, which wasn't very pleasant when we were eating. The staff are all pleasant, friendly and the reception staff all seem to speak good English: there was some confusion about our taxi when we left for the airport, but whether that was due to the taxi firm, the holiday company, or the hotel, I'm not sure.

Dear Mr. Michael,

thank you for the time spent in your review!
Yes, the bed is as you wrote: it is common on the continent.
A part this, we are happy our bedrooms have obtained appreciation from you!
People can smoke only on our terraces because they are open spaces but not in the internal restaurant.
Unfortunately, this is incovenient everywhere.
We hope to have you again as our guest.
Our best regards
