We paid a small premium to skip the huge line and got in quite quickly. It’s an awesome building and even more so when
You remember it’s 2000 years old. It’s one of the most famous buildings in the world and a must see when in Rome. The queues at times are huge so we advise paying a bit extra to join a guided tour which you can break away from once inside.

A must see when going to Rome. It does get very busy and attracts a lot of tourists. Ignore the agents that stand outside and try to sell you a ticket or upgrade the one you currently have. Recommended doing the audio tour.

Being one of the main Roman attractions there is always a lot of people around the entrance fo the Colosseum. However, if you go early in the morning there is no need to pay extra for the skip the line.

Massive queues unless you go in with a tour group which we didn't want to do but I also didn't want go queue for 2 hours!
Lots and lots of touts pouncing on you every 2 seconds asking you if you have or need tickets. They are relentless!!!
I don't really know if I saw much more from the inside than walking round the outside. You can see through the giant arches so you kind of get to see most of it without going in. Nice but not worth the €70 odd we paid to get in. I would recommend booking online before you go to avoid having to either queue or doing a tour
