Description: The restaurant "Baths of Diocletian" has been in business since 1986 and has now found its precise location in the capital's restaurant scene. The strength of our business is the professionalism and friendliness of its staff, coordinated by the brothers Dario and Michael Califano who, having taken over the business for about 4 years have brought their experience gained in restaurants and a high level attractive environment that led to immediate success. Of course, these weapons are not just winning. Contributes in a decisive manner, a varied menu of fish and meat from the impression typically Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on Roman cuisine, where classic flavors come together with some innovative touches typical of the chef. Another distinctive feature of the restaurant is the deep attention to the history of its local input in the area that was occupied by the majestic monument of the ancient Roman Baths of Diocletian, which was the largest thermal baths of ancient Rome. The ancient baths in addition to the central group of buildings now transformed into the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Roman National Museum, are two of the four round corner that currently houses the restaurant Baths of Diocletian. The venue for its strategic location, very well connected by bus and metro, as well as a large car park, offers a unique environment: its spacious rooms, on two levels and all air conditioned, accommodating up to 200, creating the right atmosphere, by the informal working lunch, the romantic dinner, and is specialized for the reception of tourist groups and tours operators.During both summer dinner is served in the roof garden, in a setting of elegance and charm, only in the heart of the Eternal City.

Our family happened upon this place without a reservation or having read any reviews - and what a find! Excellent service and authentic food at reasonable prices. Beautiful roof top experience. Ask the waiter what’s good and he will give an honest opinion of the pasta special at 10 euros. A Bottle of the house wine at 15 euros. Get there early - the place was packed when we left at 9pm.

Beautiful setting for a traditional Italian trattoria style dinner! Pasta and risotto was delicious! A small language barrier when the waiters seemed a little impatient when you asked what was in dishes and they pointed in annoyance at the menu although you wanted a little more detail than just the word for word translation on the menu. But other than that, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice!

Amazing outdoor roof top restaurant and the interior is even more amazing on the inside. The staff is really helpful and always close by when you need them. Very friendly and eager to tell you about the interior. Amazing ending to our Rome vacation

Just a short walk around the corner from Hotel Mondial, where we were staying. Typical Italian food, served in pleasant surroundings at a reasonable price. The waiting staff were very welcoming and helpful with the menu. They were all very well trained and you could tell they took pride in their job. The dishes we had were large and tasty. The vegetable side dish was hugh as was the salad. We were too full for dessert but the waiter bought us a small plate of biscote with out coffee and at the end a shot glass of Lemincello liquor. There were no service charges which was a change to most of the places we ate at.

In hindsight taking the price into consideration there is really no real reason to say it’s bad but rather it’s a average score given the price if not it would be a “bad” tag
3 of us had the clam vongole and it could have been a bit more cooked n less hard. The clams were sweet and moist being the saving grace of the dish
Our antipasti of smoked swordfish was really average while the grilled squid cake out as deep fried squid with 2 prawns and baby lobsters. The squid was tasteless - we believed frozen. The prawns and baby lobsters passed as good as both were moist and sweet with a touch of fresh seafood
The Fettuccine seafood in tomato sauce seem to be from a big batch as we saw a server scooping a similar looking dish out of a big pan of pasta. We had requested to switch the fettuccine for spaghetti but were refused. Giving more credence to the “mass” dish theory
The saving grace was being seated in the rooftop terrace which afforded a decent breeze and view of a tree
