I really wanted to love this restaraunt, booked weeks ago in advance. When we get there, we are told the Cantina is closed for the night, only to have people seated in the cantina 30 minutes later. I ordered an apertivo drink, wine for dinner and soup as a starter. All came at same time. Try to have an orange aperol with a chick pea soup? Sweetbreads and artichokes were uninspired, my son had the lamb which was re-cooked and tired. Staff was inattentive when we were literally only ones for first 30 minutes. Took 4 times to ask for the check, was ready to walk out. From era had commended and they usually never go wrong. This was a miss. Avoid if you can, Other than the Cesar story, do not get hooked into this restaraunt. lots of great dining in Rome, this is not one of them. We were celebrating 2 milestone birthdays, wish we went elsewhere. Running on reputation which is not deserved, may have been a time gone by

We had a wedding reception at this restaurant. It was held in a cave downstairs from the actual main room of the restaurant. There were stone pillars coming up from the ground and busts of Caesar. Authentic relics. After dinner the owners took us deeper underground and showed us more ancient. Relics. This restaurant is known as the exact location where Caesar was killed. Oh, and the food is wonderful. We had a very memorable evening here an will certainly go back when we next visit in the fall.

We stayed in the hotel across the Piazza del Biscione steps away from da Campo dei Fiori and decided to have dinner at Da Pancrazio which is noted for cooking authentic Roman food. We had noticed that the restaurant was filled with locals almost every night. We enjoyed a very pleasant meal at the historic restaurant. The waiter was friendly, helpful, and attentive. My husband had an excellent minestrone soup for a starter and a fantastic Roman dish called: cacio e Pepe (pepper cheese on spaghetti) which he said was excellent. I had their fava bean specialty first and an excellent Saltimbocca all romana con piselli (veal with ham and peas.) Both were well prepared and delicious. The wine selections were also very good. I had a niceglass of Prosecco. Unfortunately, there was a private party in the historic basement where Caesar was killed and we couldn't see it or take photos. Oh well, there's always next time.

One of the dishes (osso buco) was cold. Staff not friendly. The best years of this restaurant seem long ago. Pitty. Much better restaurants in the neighbourhood.

We arrived shortly after 7, the first customers of the evening. We looked at the “historical basement” and took many photos. We could smell many foods being prepared and knew we were in for a treat. It was cool outside, so they offered us a window seat. It was the best of both worlds, warm, but with a view. The waiter was friendly. We ordered the crispy artichoke special, the noodles with mussels and clams and the artichoke ravioli. Each dish was full of flavor and we happily stopped up the bits of sauce with bread provided to our table. We shared a creme caramel for our dessert. The prices were right in line with what we paid the previous 4 nights
in other restaurants in this area, but this was the best meal of them all. The owner, Pietro, proudly showed us a few pictures of his family in 1922. Highly recommend.
