Budget hotel and nice people. The room was fine, good location if taking train into town. The bus runs right in front and it would have been helpful for the hotel to have the schedule. Not real helpful in that regard.

While doing a European trip, Pompei was our last stop. This hotel did not have much to offer. The bed was very and hard that you only got 2 pillows which were pretty flat that you needed to fold it in half to sleep. The bathroom was very small. The shower was so small (2 x 2) and looked like a telephone booth. Actually, a telephone both is bigger. It had 2 accordion looking doors with no shelves. I had to put the soap and shampoo on the top of the toilet as there was no room in the shower to put anything. Make sure you have some shampoo / conditioner with you as you can't use what they give you. The hairdryer did not work as well. Also, the towels were the material of table cloths. The door lock was a manual lock with a key and you had to leave your key at the front desk when you left. Breakfast was juice (orange or pear) with a croissant filled with fruit. Also, be prepared to smell smoke. People smoke right out the front door, so expect to smell smoke in your room if it is near the front door. The people who run the place are nice and did supply you with a map of the area. And the one good thing is that it is clean. The town is very close to the hotel and it is close to one of the entrances to the Pompei ruins. If you are looking for a 4 star hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for a clean bed to sleep in for one night then this would be ok.

Had great stay in Pompeii recommend it on your bucket list, the hotel and staff could not be more helpful nice and clean great dog that loved to play fetch. Bed to hard for me but only stayed one night, the hotel is just a few mins walk into the main square where you can find lots of good places to eat and lots of ice cream parlours lovely !, the hotel were very kind and let us leave the car parked for the day while we went to the ruins just a 15 min walk from the hotel spot on

We have stayed at the Calypso twice now. Both visits were lovely, it is small and you get a feel for local life. They have their own parking right by the front door and in Italy that is rare. Rooms are spotless. Showers are small but you need to take into consideration that it is an older building refurbished and space is a premium. We went to enjoy Italy and that you will do as you take a short walk down thru the square to the ruins. The restaurants on the square are lovely with very nice staff. Of an evening Pompeii sends the tourist buses away and you are left with mostly locals and they will steal your heart.

Looking for a hotel near the archaeological site, we booked a couple of nights here and we're very pleasantly surprised! Car parking was the first surprise, the nearness to the site was the second, and the third was the extraordinary collection of bric a brac in the breakfast room...all lovingly presented around the room to make the most wonderful ambience for a very pleasant breakfast with a minimum of plastic!
Internet is quite slow but that is unfortunately par for the course in southern Italy. There is only one power outlet-and that in the bathroom. Apart from that we had a nice, quiet room at the back, with a balcony and the management, German speaking as well as English, were very friendly and helpful with useful touristic tips and info.
All in all, a reasonable priced accommodation near to historical Pompeii site
