We arrived late in the evening and were told a porter would bring our bags to our room. We said a few times we were happy to bring our own bags down from the parking area but they were incredibly insistent so we relented. When the porter arrived with our bags, and stood there and snapped his fingers and held out his hand - it took us a while to realise he was demanding a tip. He was incredibly insistent and rude about it. This is unlike any other experience we have had in Italy regarding tipping .

Super location right at the entrance to the ruins and 2 minute walk from the train station. Great base for exploring the surrounding areas and really well priced. We had a large room with terrace that looked directly over the ruins and it was lovely to sit there in the evening enjoying a night cap. Staff were very friendly and really helpful and gave us great recommendations for trips, restraunts etc... We lost our boarding cards for our return flight but the lady on Reception was really helpful and printed them out for us! A lovely visit!

Room Tip: Room with terrace

Great location, right next door to the entrance of Pompei site. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The twin bedded room was quite large but the single beds are quite small. Breakfast was included but average. The hotel was very accommodating by letting us leave our luggage there for the day while we explored Pompei and Herculaneum.

Although wifi was free but connection was terrible.

We spent 10 days exploring the coastal region south of Naples, off season because it was cheaper and we weren't too concerned about the weather (so we thought).

Pompeii is, of course, one of those 'must see' places...so off we went to see.

We stayed at Hotel Vittoria for two nights, during which time it...just...rained - unusual, apparently - so we spent more time at the hotel than we had anticipated.

I have to say, the staff, knowing that nobody comes to Pompeii to sit in a hotel, were great. They did everything they could to make our time as pleasurable as possible. From umbrellas and lifts to off-menu lunches, I couldn't fault them. An Irish woman (whose name I don't recall...sorry, Irish lady), was particularly helpful and very funny, keeping our spirits up.

I'm not sure I'll ever be back in Pompeii again, but if I was, I'd return to this hotel.

Just returned from a week in Pompeii. This hotel is in perfect location our room was overlooking the Ruins amazing views to wake up to every morning. Rooms are very spacious and very clean. The staff are extremely helpful and very knowledgeable and will provide any guidance you need. The train station is two minutes walk from the hotel which brings you to Sorrento and Naples. There is also another train station about ten minutes walk which will bring you to Salerno if you want to take a trip to the Amalfi coast. Would highly recommend staying here if visiting Pompeii with the Ruins on your doorstep.
