If you’re after a more authentic Neapolitan experience rather than a generic chain hotel then this is a great choice. It’s located in one of the many stone built apartment blocks that border the narrow streets of the older parts of the city and you enter via a cobbled courtyard and up some wide heavy stone stairs to the first and second floors (there is also a lift). The rooms, many in an apartment originally belonging to the owner’s grandparents, are simple but nicely decorated, well air-conditioned and importantly insulated from the bustle of the street below. The owner is exceptionally charming and welcoming and is a great help when you’re planning what to do. The breakfast is also very good with lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheese and pastries and of course coffee. The other thing to note is that it’s in a great location just a short walk from Palazzo Reale and excellent for accessing both the sea front and the older parts of the city. Overall we absolutely loved it.
