“Good for hot months of the year”
Reviewed 2 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We had a pleasant stay here. The house is close to the railway and some local shops. We had a driver (arranged through the booking) to pick us up at the airport which made finding the house the first time easy. Initially we were disappointed to be in the basement apartment which had not been advertised. It was cool and dark which will be important for the hot months of the summer so we had the heating and lighting on all the time in April. We left a few items in the house when we left and the owners kindly sent these back to the UK for us at no charge which we kind.

Dear miss Mc Coy
thank you for your "nice" recension, but Casa Rubinacci has 7 wonderful suites ,one is Attico with terrace, and just one is dark as you decribe..but you choosed it !!!! maybe becouse of the price or availability..i don't' know .., but all pictures of this suite are enclosed in booking..As for any suite.
So, it is no really nice from you to describe as we gave you the ugliest suite..i'm sorry of your opinion.

“Perfect location!”

We were very impressed with the apartment, which worked out perfectly for us and my brother's family. Two bathrooms and plenty of room for sleeping with two teenage girls.
Only problem we had was hot water was only sufficient for one shower and it ran out.
The internet worked the first two days and then the rest of the week we struggled and wasted a lot of time trying to figure out why it quit working. Internet was important as we had another family on our trip we needed to communicate with who were staying in another part of Rome.
Our phones were set up to use internet to text our arrangements to meet.

Liked best: The apartment layout and amenities and location for ease of sightseeing.
Liked least: The bed was very hard (important to me with arthritis), and lack of hot water was inconvenient.

“A lovely set of appartments set above Naples”
Reviewed 13 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We stayed here for three nights, in a two-bedroom suite with two small children. It was a wonderful place to stay, set up above Naples in the hills, with great views, but just a 15 minute walk into Chiaia.

Self-catering, with a little shop across the street and more down the hill.

Lovely

“Elegant Neapolitan Oasis”

After a spending quiet time in pastoral Paestum, we were ready for the excitement of Naples. Our introduction met that expectation. Upon our arrival, down a serpentine road, we witnessed two instances of vehicles hitting pedestrians. Was this unusual? Perhaps not. One victim, a middle aged matron, simply picked herself up, shook herself off like a stunned deer, lit a cigarette and walked off. After this, we were ready for anything.

Behind the gates of Casa Rubinacci we were greeted by Carmella and her son, Salvatore, two of the three members of a family who care for the guests. Although each of us was ignorant of the other's language, Carmella and Salvatore were able to orient us to our lovely suite (Cashmere) and our immediate neighborhood. Monica, the property manager, then filled in the blanks. Throughout our stay she was our reliable guide to Naples and the perfect hostess.

We stayed in Casa Rubinacci for a week and found it ideal for our needs. A metro station and taxi stand were a few paces from the door. We enjoyed exploring the neighborhood and surrounding areas. The Villa Comunale park and the waterfront are an easy stroll. As luck would have it, our visit coincided with Vomera a Notte, a night time street festival of food, music and dancing. Our suite at Casa Runinacci was spacious, airy and well kept. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom has a full tub and shower and the kitchen is functional for light meals. If we required an item, Carmella provided it quickly. She also did our laundry. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace with spectacular views of the city and the Bay of Naples and relaxed in comfort on a lower shaded terrace. Shortly before leaving we visited Signore Rubinacci in his elegant shop . It was the weekend of its grand re-opening in a new location in a five hundred year old castle. He graciously provided a tour of his establishment, regaling us with tales of its history.

This was our fourth trip to Naples. At last, we found in Casa Rubinacci the one place we will stay each time we return.

“Great Experience!”

I stayed in the Vigogna Suite for two weeks and enjoyed every moment of it. The staff is extremely hospitable and the entire residence is very clean and well maintained. The property manager, Monica, went out of her way to assist me with every need that I had. Casa Rubinacci is also in a great location. There is public transportation (train station, bus stops, and taxi stand) in very short walking distance if required. I never used any of these personally...there are so many great places in such short walking distance to include great restaurants and shops. For a little bit further of a walk, but still relatively close (a perfect distance to burn some calories from all the great food, while still not too far) you can go to any of these locations: Piazza Amedeo (also has a Funicolare that can take you up to Vomero and Piazza Vanvitelli), Piazza dei Martiri, Piazza San Pasquale, Riviera di Chiaia, and also Mergellina. In such a small area, you can't find better restaurants, shopping, drinking establishments, and great sights.
