We stayed for three nights last weekend. The hotel is reasonably priced as far as Capri goes which means it is very expensive but relatively good value. Th superior double room was perfectly acceptable. a small issue with the loo not flushing was soon corrected.

The hotel's 91 year old owner Tonino was often sat in the lounge during the afternoon and took great pleasure in chatting about the hotel, to passing guests. His white cat (gato bianco) Matisse could usually be found wandering round reception looking very superior.

The only criticism was that one evening we went to the hotel bar before lunch. The young bartender was frankly clueless and two gin and tonics completely threw him. Goodness knows what we actually ended up with.

This apart, we would have no hesitation in returning to this charming hotel.

The hotel is in the middle of the down town capri. İt is a typical Hotel decorated with seramics. We booked a superior room, but it was a disappointment. The room wiev was the roof of the other building, in the room nothing was superior. There was on oxidated mirror, old furnitures, broken light, old made bath. I asked the reception weather our room is superior, he answer was it is bigger in size. But the room was not big????? The breakfast is really poor, you eat not to starve. The personal is just doing their job, not servicing... İf you want location, it is really good, but lower your expectations to be happy. One more info, luagage transportation from marina is 9 euro each piece.

Cordiali saluti

One of the oldest establishments in town, it's also my favourite. Simple, comfortable and greatly located in the middle of Capri town. The owners are a local family in the business since the 50s, they are friendly, helpful and attentive

Room tip: best rooms are overlooking the breakfast area

This was a gem of a hotel located in the heart of Capri town. Our family of four had two rooms/two bathrooms in a large "apartment". While there was not stunning view of Capri, the amenities were great and the price fantastic on an island where even a lemon granita is 2x the price of one in Sorrento. Breakfast was just okay but for the price of the room for our family of four, we didn't complain. The concierge gave us two great suggestions for dinner as well!

Really really great hotel. The service was helpful, room was spacious and clean, terrace was lovely.

Regarding the location - it is right in the heart of all the action.

Great place to stay and not bad value for money. Would highly recommend Gatto Bianco.
