We were really lucky that on arrival there wasn’t any queues, we got straight into a row boat and paid our tickets. You’re only in the blue grotto a short while (maybe 5 mins) but it was a fantastic experience, really unusual and the water is incredible!!

The most disappointing experience I have ever had. I was really looking forward to seeing the grotto. My husband and I took one of the boats that said Grotto Azzurro trip. The boat took us and the other tourists next to the grotto- we paid 15 euro each. We then waited 1 hour to get in while people who came in private boast came later and were taken into the grotto before us. During that time the tourists were asking the boat crew what to expect but got no straight answer. Later the small 4 person boats came to pick us up and just before the grotto were taken to a TILL !!! on a boat where we were expected to pay 14 euro each to enter the grotto. It turned out the 15 euro we already paid only covered our trip. No one was aware of that payment. The water in the grotto is infact an amazing blue colour but we were there for around 3 minutes. The man operating the boat was asking for tips throughout our time in the grotto.
All in all, it's absolutely not worth it. All the people on our boat felt cheated.
If you really want to see the grotto you can get next to it by a city bus and only pay the 14 euro for the entry but I do not think it's worth the hassel.
I attach a picture of the boat we took but mind you we paid for the ticket in a nearby office.

One of those things you have to do whilst in Capri, however, when it's busy you can spend a long time waiting for your turn to enter the grotto. Quite expensive for what it is.

Disappointing at best. First my wife and I pay Euro 30 at the main port for a 1-1/2 hour boat tour that advertises also the Blu grotto. Later as we're board rowboats we find out the Blu grotto costs another Euro 28 and then the rowboat driver tells us in no uncertain terms we tip him on top of that. Worst off, after the 4 minutes in the Blu grotto we head straight back to Port. We dropped over $100 for the 45 Minute experience.

It will cost you between 15 and €20 per person (including your bus from Anacapri + access fee + tip), but once you get in your boat and inside the cave, it becomes the very best image of what a true azure blue is about. And it's all natural. The sun lights the water quite deep, which reflect thru the water inside de cave.
Obviously, the rowers, cashiers (on over decked boat) and other staff all belong to the local mafia.
