“Lovely, perfect location!”

We spent 4 nights at the lovely Norman Balcony apartment. Francesca greeted our taxi, introduced us to the apartment, where she had set out a wonderful "pranza", and informed us about the area. The refrigerator was full of snacks, everything you could imagine for breakfast for several days on the lovely terrace. You do not want for anything when you stay in this apartment. Pretty bed and bath linens. Fully pampered. The location was perfect and within 15 minute walking distance (along Via Vittorio Emanuel where there is no automobile traffic, many bars, restaurants, shops) to the train station. Near restaurants, walking along the water visiting sites. The Duomo and the Giardino della Minerva are not to be missed. Wonderful home base for Amalfi Coast, Pompei and other sites. Perfect! Since we are a couple, we used the fold out couch in the living room. Though ample size, it is time to upgrade the mattress. With that being said, the apartment andthe kindness and generosity Francesca and Gabriella was well beyond expectation!!

“Perfect, completely unique, a hidden gem of a holiday escape”

I am reviewing this stay very late, but I really feel this holiday apartment should receive the recognition it deserves. What a special place. Gabriella made collecting the keys to the apartment so easy and left wine and breakfast items on the table :-) a really lovely touch. The apartment over looks one of the tiny piazzas in the old quarter and there's a little market on every morning selling fresh fruit, veg and fish (apart from Sunday's). The balcony really is the most beautiful aspect of the apartment and you can sit on warm evenings or enjoy coffee in the morning. The little lounge is also very nice and on warm afternoons the tall shuttered windows can be opened and an Amalfi breeze fills the room, billowing through white linen curtains. The apartment retains peaceful qualities and if you're looking for an authentic Italian experience where you "live" an Italian lifestyle on your holiday, this is the place for you. I will definitely be back to Francesca and Gabriella's treasured corner of paradise. Rachel

Liked best: The balcony
Liked least: Unfortunately while we were there the apartment above was undergoing house works and most mornings we were woken by building noises! But you can't stay in a city centre apartment and not expect to be woken by the sounds of activity/people

“Beautiful, central apartment”

Lovely, airy, fantastically furnished apartment in the medieval quarter of town. Within easy walking distance of the train station and the water-front. The owner made us feel really welcome. Thank you!

“Italy at its Best”

Absolutely perfect. A beautiful apartment right in the heart of the old city. Totally safe for a solo traveller. I stayed for two weeks and would love to have stayed for more. Gabriella stocked the kitchen with more food than I could eat and made me a much needed cup of tea when I arrived. Terrific value for money

“Felt more like a home away from home”

What a great place to stay. The apartment was just as we were hoping it was. So different to staying in hotels and so nice to have tat homely feel. Very clean well furnished with everything you need and the great terrace where we spent most of our time when in the apartment. Gabriella and Francesca were so lovely and helpful and we were so surprised and grateful for the food and wine left for us. We loved Salerno especially the medieval are and was such a good place to base ourselves for our day trips to various towns on the Amalfi coast, Capri, Paestum and Pompeii. Great apartment and great town.
