This busy market area has shops, cafes, restaurants and lots of people. I prefer the atmosphere earlier in the morning and later in the evening but it is always fun for people watching.

This very busy market area in Amalfi adds to the experience of your visit. We went into the Duomo first so we were relaxed when we entered these narrow streets where you sometimes have to step almost into a shop to make place for people passing by

A narrow street winding up from the Piazza del Duomo, it is lined with shops, cafes and restaurants. You have to step into doorways to avoid the cars that periodically come up or down so take care with young children. Worth a wander. The fountain near the top is fascinating and there are some artists producing lovely paintings using Amalfi paper.
