We stayed at Hotel Aurora in Amalfi for 7 days and 7 nights. The hotel was full and couldn't provide us with a sea-view room but gave us one with a partial view, which was fine considering we didn't spend much time indoors. Our room was clean, cool and comfortable. The breakfast was not as big as some other 4 star hotels we've stayed at but had lot of options and was fresh. We especially loved the fresh heart-shaped doughnuts and cakes. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They suggested and helped with booking day trips from Amalfi which was very convenient. They recommended a few restaurants, which we tried and liked. If you wish to stay indoors, they have a small selection of books to read from and a few board games. The hotel also arranges pickup and drop which we found out later. The sea and beach are right in front of the hotel. The bus station and ferry dock are a few minutes walk away. There are plenty restaurants and stores within walking distance. We had an early pickup for the airport, so on the night before we left, Walter from the night staff arranged a breakfast of toasts, jams, cookies and juice on a tray for us to take to our room, which we really appreciate. We had a very lovely stay at Hotel Aurora and would recommend it to anyone visiting Amalfi.

Room Tip: Opt for a sea-view room on the top floor.

We had a terrific experience staying at the Aurora Hotel in Amalfi. We arranged for a pick up at the Naples Airport which I highly recommend as it is difficult to get to the Amalfi coast by public transport. Besides you also need a really good driver as the roads are incredibly windy and the traffic unbelievable. The service at the Aurora Hotel was superb from the clean and spacious rooms, to the beautiful breakfast on the veranda overlooking the ocean. They will help organize anything you would like from restaurant reservations to tours. It's a beautiful quiet spot close to everything.

Amalfi is a small and a busy town which serves as a major ferry point for Positano and Capri when travelling from Salerno.

Hotel Aurora is situated at one corner of Amalfi but that is about a 5 min stroll from the city center, this should also give you an idea of the size of the town.

The hotel has the best views i believe right from the sunrise to the sunset, as you open your balcony you are greeted by the open sea and see passenger ferry's, yachts plying.

To make your stay even more comfortable is the staff which go out of the way and help take care of all the guests need. We were coming from Salerno and wanted to understand the best way to reach the hotel, Andrea was more than patient to reply to our multiple mails and help us find the best means to reach Amalfi from Salerno.

We were greeted by Andrew at the Front Desk (Man U Fan) who helped us around the hotel property and also guided us to the points to visit in Amalfi.

The ferry dock which also happens to be the city center and boarding point for SITA bus is a 5 min stroll which makes the location even more convenient.

You will remember the time you spent in Hotel Aurora.

Room Tip: Believe most of the rooms face the sea, in case they don't you should ask for one.

When we arrived the staff (Gaetano, Andre and Andrew) went out of their way to help us by providing area information, parking help, and referred us to restaurants. They gave us a complimentary fruit basket and bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary. They helped me make a phone call to the car rental to change reservations. The breakfast on the terrace was wonderful and promptly served at 7am. The view from our terrace in our room was fantastic of the harbor and pier. I watched the fireworks right from our terrace. The air conditioning was comfortable and the room was clean. The location was so convenient to the cathedral, shopping and restaurants and the marina was a 5 minute walk to our Capri boat tour. We would definitely recommend and come again to see our beautiful gem of Aurora and staff who aim to please!! The only thing was the bed mattresses were too firm for my liking and I do not people smoking on the terrace while I am eating but they smoke everywhere in Europe.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a terrace, harbor view.

I'm not sure what everyone is talking about but we're really not enjoying this hotel. The walls are paper thin can hear everything going on in the hall ways and other rooms, the 'king bed' is two singles stuck together which a big crack in the middle! The staff is friendly but that's about it, don't waste your time here. You will regret it!

Er paper thin??? Our hotel was built in 1959 and I can promise you that the walls are NOT "paper thin", they are real walls. Perhaps your stay was not the best as you wanted a sea view but you had booked a cheaper room?? Next time please contact me directly and I will be very happy to make things right for you.
