We travelled a few times on Travelmar ferries and found them clean, on time, staff friendly and reasonable cost. Much more enjoyable and probably faster than a bus.

While in Salerno used this ferry company to get to Amalfi and Positano.
Excellent service and efficient staff with security on the ferry.
Departure and arrival as scheduled.
Takes the hassle out of driving between the mentioned towns as that does become a bit nerve racking.
Well priced at €8 between each Salerno to Amalfi and again to Positano.
Smooth sailing Happy travelers.

Parked easily in the quay car park in Amalfi, and took the boat to Positano (8€ each way, 3€ per hour parking).

Easy to book on line with their app. Pick up your tickets at the booth though.

Queuing Italian style is always a problem. I was as I thought, (25 mins before, no clear signage of where boat might dock, it’s a bit hit and miss, dependant on which order the boats arrive) the front of queue for my boat, another boat arrived and emptied its passengers right in front of me. When those disembarking realised their next boat, (also my boat) was docking, they just stayed put, meaning there were now plenty in front of me.

Timed tickets seem not to count for much. On my return journey I arrived at the port about 20mins prior to departure to find an absolutely massive queue, several hundred for a boat only able to carry “most” of the queue. I could see people with all sorts of times in their tickets. They are not asked to wait to board. Fortunately another boa was available, expect even bigger queues in the full summer holiday period.

Just returned from Amalfi coast and used these ferries quite a few times. Could not fault them for price, efficiency and ease of use. We took advantage of guided trip around Capri also that they offered. Both guides well informed and Very well organised. Made our holiday. Could not recommend using them enough, so much better than bus!

We were reluctant to either drive or take the bus along the Amalfi Coast given what we’d heard about the highway, and the ferry offered the perfect solution. I made reservations for the Salerno to Amalfi ferry on-line the day before our travel, and had only to convert my voucher for boarding passes at the ticket counter on the wharf. The ferry was fast, stopping only for about 15 minutes in Amalfi before continuing on to Positano. On our return we took the ferry from Amalfi, buying tickets at the dock. The ferries are clean, fairly basic but absolutely fine; the second ferry was older, with classic wood interiors—very much like what I imagine travel in the 30s or 40s must have been like. I’d certainly take the ferry again, and recommend TraVelMar.
